State of Bacon

State of Bacon

What’s Cooking, What’s Changing and What’s Next

Fourteen years ago, ContentBacon began taking shape.

In 2014, we launched the first version of our website. In 2016, what began as an idea and an experiment became a validated business model.

At the time, content subscriptions were a relatively new concept. We were one of the first companies to make it easy for businesses of all sizes to consistently tell their stories without having to build an entire content team themselves.

And everyone needed us.

Businesses knew content mattered, but most had no idea how to consistently create it. We gave them the strategy, writers, designers, process and accountability to make it happen.

We were an easy sell.

Fast-forward to 2026, and the world looks very different.

Creating content is easier than ever. We have more tools, platforms, freelancers, agencies and AI-generated shortcuts available than we could possibly use.

Today, our biggest competitor is not another content company. It is the easy button.

AI can generate a blog, email, social post or entire campaign in seconds. That accessibility is incredible, but it has also created an avalanche of content that says a lot without meaning much of anything.

We are all being bombarded by it.

Some companies have responded by publishing more and more. Others have become so tired of the noise that they have stopped telling their stories altogether.

Neither is the answer.

What Does It Really Mean to Tell Our Stories?

“Telling your story” has become one of those phrases we use so often that it risks losing its meaning, right alongside content creation, thought leadership and authenticity.

But the meaning behind it is still why I started ContentBacon.

I believe every company has a powerful story to tell. Most are either not telling it at all, not telling it consistently or not doing it very well.

Our company stories are not limited to how we started or what appears on an About Us page.

They live in who we are, what we believe and why we exist. They reveal what makes us meaningfully different. They include the knowledge we have earned, the problems we know how to solve and the opportunities we help other people see.

Our stories include our vision, values, opinions, lessons, experiences and customer wins. They include the people behind our companies and the impact we are working to create.

Most importantly, our stories should add value to the people we want to reach. They should teach something, challenge someone’s thinking, solve a problem, spark an idea or make another person feel understood.

That is what good content does.

And it is not easy.

The longer we commit to telling our stories, the deeper we have to dig. We have to stay curious, interesting and relevant. We have to keep learning, forming opinions and finding more meaningful ways to express what we know.

We have all heard that if we are not growing, we are dying. Consistently creating and sharing meaningful content forces us to grow.

It deepens our brands. It strengthens relationships. It helps shape company culture. It gives our people language for what we do and why it matters. It creates clarity for our customers, our teams and ourselves.

None of our stories are ever one and done because we never stop evolving.

ContentBacon is no exception.

What’s Cooking at ContentBacon

Our bread-and-butter content subscriptions are still built around the same fundamental need we identified all those years ago: helping companies consistently communicate who they are, what they do, why it matters and what makes them different.

The way we deliver that has become much more strategic, sophisticated and complete.

We start by getting clear on our customers’ goals, audiences, opportunities and budgets. Then we build the right mix of content and activation to support them.

We develop the strategy. We create the content. We implement it. We measure what is happening, report on the results and recommend what should happen next.

We become an extension of the team that our customers can count on.

We learn their voice, style and brand, or we work together to create them. We ask questions. We stay curious. We challenge them when needed. We think beyond the assignment because checking boxes has never been the point.

We help create awareness and interest, build trust and give people a meaningful reason to choose them.

And yes, we are easy and fun to work with. We care deeply about our customers, and they feel it.

That is still our bread and butter.

But it is no longer the whole sandwich.

We Are Turning CRMs Into Revenue Generators

Almost every company we speak with is sitting on a gold mine of relationships inside its CRM or database.

Current customers. Former customers. Old opportunities. Warm leads. Referral partners. People who once raised their hands and then disappeared into a system where nobody consistently followed up with them.

As businesses, we work incredibly hard and spend a lot of money building these relationships. Then, without meaning to, we forget about them.

We created our CRM Revenue Creation and Recovery solutions to fix that.

We audit the CRM, uncover the opportunities, build the processes and create the content needed to reengage the people who are already there. We combine strategy, storytelling, technology, follow-up and dashboards to turn a neglected database into an active source of conversations and revenue.

The gold is already there. We help companies mine it.

And it works because we are not trying to manufacture relationships from nothing. We are reigniting relationships that already exist.

We Are Bringing Leaders Into the Story

Many brilliant business leaders have outdated social profiles, inconsistent visibility or no meaningful presence at all.

Some do not have the time. Some do not have the interest. Others know they should be showing up but have no idea what to say.

It is a huge missed opportunity.

We all want to know the people behind the companies we buy from, work for, recommend and invest in. Leaders have perspectives nobody else inside the business can offer. They know what is coming. They hear directly from customers. They see the problems, patterns and opportunities before everyone else.

Keeping all of that locked inside their heads is a loss for everyone.

We help leaders turn their experiences, ideas and strong points of view into platforms for impact.

The process does more than build visibility. It breathes life into ideas that may have been dormant for years. It helps employees better understand their leaders. It gives customers a stronger connection to the company. It creates conversations, relationships and opportunities.

It also helps leaders grow.

I know because it happens to me every time I sit down to write one of these.

We Are the Team Behind Other Great Teams

Our white-label partnerships are another important part of who we are today.

We are fortunate to be the trusted content partner for incredible agencies, consultants and companies that choose us as their in-house outsourced team.

Sometimes we help them tell their own stories. Sometimes we quietly work behind the scenes to help them deliver exceptional work to their customers.

Either way, we become a true extension of their team. We bring the strategy, creative talent, systems and implementation they need without requiring them to build it all internally.

They trust us with their brands, their customers and their reputations.

That trust means everything to us.

What’s Changing

AI has changed the content world. Pretending otherwise would be ridiculous.

It has changed how we research, brainstorm, create, analyze and execute. It has made certain tasks easier and faster. It has given businesses access to capabilities that once required significantly more time and money.

We use AI. We embrace it. We continue exploring how it can make us smarter, stronger and more effective.

But AI is a tool. It is not the storyteller.

The ability to create more content does not automatically give us something more meaningful to say. Speed does not replace substance. Efficiency does not replace empathy. A perfectly structured paragraph does not necessarily make another human being feel anything.

That is where we come in.

AI has not made ContentBacon less relevant. It has made the best parts of who we are more important.

Our customers are not looking for more content simply because it is easy to produce. They care about quality over quantity. They want ideas with substance, content with a soul and stories that make their audiences feel something.

They value working with people who will get on the phone and hash out a challenge. They value curiosity, judgment, strategic thinking and human connection. They want a partner who understands their world, earns their trust and recognizes the responsibility that comes with representing their brand.

We know the work we do can help take a company to the next level, and then the level after that.

We take that seriously.

We are not box checkers. We do not simply complete the ask and move on. We get inside our customers’ worlds. We look for what is missing, what could be stronger and what opportunity they may not see yet.

That has always been our magic.

What’s Next

Not too long ago, I asked myself a hard question:

Do I still want to do this?

I had become disenchanted with what was happening in the content world. So much noise. So much sameness. So much content being created simply because someone, or something, could create it.

For a very brief moment, I thought about throwing in the towel. It lasted about a nanosecond. Because then I asked myself a better question:

Why ContentBacon?

The answer came quickly.

Because telling stories that matter is still my passion.

Because businesses need clarity, connection and trust more than ever.

Because there is an enormous difference between generating content and communicating something worth hearing.

Because we have an opportunity to set the standard for what it looks like to be the leading content creation and activation company in the world.

What we do matters. Maybe even more now than when we started.

What’s next for ContentBacon is not a complete reinvention. It is a deeper commitment to what we have always believed, expanded for what businesses need today.

We will continue helping companies tell meaningful stories and activate those stories in ways that create measurable impact.

We will help them build stronger brands, bring their leaders forward, deepen customer relationships and turn overlooked databases into active revenue opportunities.

We will use AI to make our work better without allowing it to make our work generic.

We will continue investing in people, ideas, curiosity, strategy and the kind of human connection technology cannot manufacture.

And we will keep raising the standard.

Our Story Is Still Being Written

I am incredibly proud of what we have built, and I am especially proud of the ContentBacon team.

The people behind this company care deeply, think boldly and work hard to help our customers grow. ContentBacon would not be what it is today without them.

Writing this has also reminded me why we take our own medicine.

Telling our story creates clarity for us. It forces us to articulate who we are today, what is changing, where we are going and why the journey is still worth taking.

We are growing, definitely not dying.

Fourteen years have brought plenty of lessons, challenges, changes, milestones, laughter, love and, of course, bacon.

There is so much more cooking, and our story is still being written.

To every customer, partner, team member, friend and supporter who has been part of this journey, thank you. You have helped shape who we are, and I am grateful you are still here for what comes next.

Happy 12 to us.

Most creators skip this part. The noise is just cover for the ones without a real point. Just sent a connection request. Would love to connect.

Congratulations, Wendy Lieber. I've loved working with you and you're brilliant team so many of these years. 💛

Happy 14! Cheers for more years!

Just like 14 years ago, CB is the extension leading every company needing content into this new (AI) landscape, and making sure that any and all tools utilized are for the benefit of driving the customer forward and ahead of the competition. Happy 14 years and I'm looking forward to many more!
