Welcome to the inaugural edition of The Sharp Edit.
Hi, world! We’ve arrived!
This newsletter is meant to give you a quick dose of behind-the-scenes action and insights to our latest endeavors. Creating award-winning activations inspired by fantasy and imagination? Check. Challenging the art world’s status quo? Also yes. Dancing on tables with editors until 2am?…You bet.
We’re coming in fresh off the news of being named to this year’s PR Net 100 list and couldn’t be more excited to share some of the things that make our work most valuable for our clients, and most meaningful for our Sharpies.
So hold onto your hineys, friends – let’s get this party started.
High Impact for HI-CHEW
In NYC, you know something big is happening when there’s a line down the block to get in. In the case of our latest activation for HI-CHEW, the buzz was buzzing - “the PR was PRing” - when we had more than 1,000 New Yorkers waiting in line throughout the day for their chance at a delicious HI-CHEW experience.
To launch HI-CHEW’s new Dessert Mix, our team created the first-ever HI-CHEW Dessert Truck, a consumer activation inspired by the nostalgia of an old fashioned ice cream truck and dessert parlor. We created and hit the streets in Soho and Williamsburg, allowing guests to pick their HI-CHEW flavor of choice – Strawberry Ice Cream, Key Lime Pie, or Candy Apple – and a package filled to the brim with HI-CHEW goodies. PR and Influencer results reached over 275 Million impressions.
This activation followed the HI-CHEW Bite-Size Candy Shop, which just won Best Pop-Up Store in the PR News 2024 Experiential & Event PR Awards.
Ahh, the sweet taste of success.
Our Total Fan Girl Moment: Amber Lewis x Four Hands
One of the hottest names in interior design is Amber Lewis. She designs for A-List celebrities, is covered by top media, and recently partnered with Four Hands to debut a new collection of furniture.

The secret sauce of this collaboration was the immediate chemistry between Amber Lewis and Adam Dunn, VP of Design for Four Hands (“we were like peanut butter and jelly…or tomato juice and vodka…”). The duo worked seamlessly on the collection, with Amber’s aesthetic being a complete complement to the brand’s design DNA.
To make a major splash for the brand’s first ever designer collaboration, Sharp started with a press trip to Austin HQ where six national design editors reveled in some classic Texas culture and stunning furniture design. Following that, we hosted two dozen press appointments at High Point Market, secured a digital exclusive in a top shelter publication, and conducted a widespread pitching blitz that spanned traditional and affiliate media. With feature coverage in Veranda, House Beautiful, Apartment Therapy, Domino, we generated more than 522 Million impressions for Amber x Adam and their stunning Four Hands designs.
We’ll have that Bloody Mary now.
The New York Fall Art Season Is Off and Running
While Labor Day in New York has many of us shuffling back from beachy locales and gearing up for back-to-school season, it also rings in the official return of the art world. Last week, our team was on the ground at the Armory Show and the first ever NYC Collectible Fair, among others. We shared a few bits of inspiration over on our Instagram, if you’d like to live vicariously.
The undeniable energy of the art (or is it the people watching?) has us reminiscing about our work with The European Fine Art Foundation (TEFAF), which has been hosting one the world’s preeminent art fairs in Maastricht for 35 years, and has quickly become a stalwart event in NY for the past 7.
Beyond its aisles of museum-quality artworks, one of our favorite aspects of TEFAF is its team of roving oyster shuckers. And as experts of the beloved “bivalve mollusk,” the shuckers keep guests well fed with delicious oysters (more than 6,000 at each fair, all to be enjoyed with a glass of champagne!)
