Kettle Corn and October go hand in hand. Sweet, hot popcorn while watching a scary movie is the perfect fall evening! I also think kettle corn is perfect on a summer evening under the stars! Really any time of year is perfect for this recipe.

Kettle Corn can be a little intimidating to make on your own, and letโ€™s face it, it can be dangerous! Sugar getโ€™s hot lol. Store bought microwavable popcorn is so full of chemicals, we try to stay away from it as often as possible. As a chemist, I analyze pretty much every label I come across and popcorn can be concerning when it comes to ingredients.

This make your own kettle is the best solution! It is so easy and cheap to make, plus you can do it in the microwave, so it is stress free and ready in minutes!

Things To Keep In Mind With DIY Microwave Popcorn:

My chemist tip is to make sure you donโ€™t over cook it. With coconut sugar, it is easy for the caramelization to burn the popcorn, so it is better to make sure you under cook it.

Having unpopped kernels is totally normal, and will always happen when you make this in a paper bag.

You can try all types of seasoning on this recipe too! I have added in spices, pepper, lime, cayenne, and more to this recipe.
