As the air gets crisper and humidity dips, fall can leave skin looking dull, tight, or flaky. These nine chemistry-tested tips bring back your glow naturally with hydration, barrier support, and subtle radiance—all rooted in skin science.
9 Fall Skincare Tips for Glowing, Hydrated Skin (Science-Backed!)

Here are some quick and easy fall skincare tips that will get your skin glowing this season. If you want quick shopping, you can find many of these items in our Amazon Fall Skincare List.
1. Incorporate a Weekly Jelly Mask for Intense Hydration & Firming
Jelly masks are amazing for dry skin. Their occlusive, jelly-like formula traps moisture while delivering hydrating ingredients (think hyaluronic acid, glycerin, botanical extracts), leaving skin plump, dewy, and toned. They can also deliver brightening or calming actives depending on the ingredients.

2. Use Pumpkin-Based Masks to Brighten & Calm
Pumpkin enzymes offer gentle exfoliation, brightening dull skin, refining pores, and aiding dry or acne-prone skin—while also delivering Vitamin C benefits. One of my favorite pumpkin masks is this one from DRMTLGY.

3. Layer Ingredients Strategically: Niacinamide + Hyaluronic Acid
This dynamic duo is excellent for fall. Hyaluronic acid draws in moisture, while niacinamide helps strengthen your skin barrier and lock it in. Using products with both of these ingredients is a game changer for transitioning into the fall season. My favorite niacinamide and hyaluronic acid combination products is this daily firming serum (It has a discount code too, alexisroch at checkout). Check out the science and more products like this in our post about these ingredients.
4. Include a Repairing/Moisture-Barrier Cream
Transitioning into cooler, drier air can compromise your skin barrier. I recommend a repairing cream specially formulated for barrier restoration—use it twice daily from fall through winter. My personal favorite barrier repair cream (discount code alexisroch) is the one from FRÉ which has the best reviews from readers as well.
5. Maintain Vitamin C Defense with VC-IP Serums
The VC-IP Vitamin C serum (discount code alexisroch) is more potent and stable than standard ascorbic acid. It helps brighten, protect, and strengthen your skin—especially useful for seasonal dullness. This is always a good step to use throughout the year, but it plays a key role in autumn skincare. To learn more about why VC-IP serum is better than traditional vitamin c, be sure to catch up on this blog post.
6. Use a Red-Light Therapy Tool for Glow and Tightness
This non-invasive tool supports lymphatic drainage and boosts skin tightening and glow. Many readers report visible results—an excellent supplement to your routine. The red light can sooth irritated skin while also promoting firmness. I love how this tool also allows you to do lymphatic drainage while you use the red light, this is important for puffiness in the face.
7. Protect Your Skin with Good Quality Sun Protection
Though fall has cooler air, UV rays still penetrate—especially during outdoor fun. Continue with non-toxic mineral SPF and consider protective antioxidants to preserve glowing skin. You can use a full body sunscreen (discount code alexisroch) like this one or you can use a targeted tinted one (discount code alexisroch) for your face.
8. Top Your Skin With Shimmering Monoi Oil
A nourishing oil like monoi oil can add hydration back into your skin like arms, legs, chest area, but it also adds a lovely shimmer which can enhance your natural tan. This is especially good in autumn when your summer color might be fading. This has been my go to all through summer, but I love using it this time of year too! Due to how rich this oil is, it makes a wonderful option for seasonal dry skin on your arms, legs, chest, stomach, even neck and chest area.
9. Take Care Of Your Lips With Our DIY Pumpkin Lip Mask/Scrub
Lastly, don’t forget your lips. Always use a lip moisturizer, but it is almost important to scrub the dead skin off your lips so the lip balm or moisturizer you use can work better. Our DIY Pumpkin Lip Scrub is always a huge hit this time of year.

Additional Thoughts:
Many of these products are staples I use all year, but I love how simply swapping in one or two items—or introducing something like the Revive Me Daily Firming Serum—can give your skin exactly what it needs during the autumn months. And of course, adding a cozy pumpkin-inspired scent makes your skincare routine feel perfectly seasonal.

Hello. I’m 67 and I have dry skin in winter oily skin in summer ,and my skin is dull looking with bags under eyes. Is there a skin program that help older women
Sorry for my delay in replying, this ended up in spam! Luckily I checked it today. I have many good recommendations for aging, dry dull skin. This protocol can also be helpful in the summer if you have more oily skin. I go through the same thing and these items are all yearly staples for me.
First, I highly recommend adding in this firming serum which uses both hyaluronic acid and niacinamide for deep hydration and firming. Applying it to slightly damp skin helps lock in hydration (use code alexisroch at checkout which is buy one get one free today, just add two items to the cart). This botanical bud nectar series is another additional I highly recommend (works great with the firming serum). It has been so popular with our readers over 55 because it works for deep rejuvenation of dry aging skin. It also helps to brighten dull skin.
I use lymphatic drainage red light therapy tool that is very beneficial for puffiness and bags under the eyes, also adding in a face tape each night to limit facial movement is a really underrated method of limiting wrinkles if you want to do a little something for aging skin. I have a blog post coming up on that, but I use both the frownies and recently this forehead one.
These are just a few suggestions I have, but feel free to email me directly if you would like some more help! Thanks!
