Summer To Do List

Summer to do list inspiration!

The beautiful days of summer are quickly approaching and I still get that giddy feeling about it like I did when I was young. Summer has so many wonderful memories for different seasons of life doesn’t it? For instance, when you were eight years old, summer couldn’t come soon enough. All you dreamed of was how awesome summer would be. Staying up all night, sleeping in a tent on the trampoline, swimming all day everyday, hitting up the snow cone truck, and eating as much junk food as possible. When your in college, summer is all about being as lazy as possible both mentally and physically. Your brain is fried from the horrible fall and spring semester, and all you care about is sitting around, hanging out. Summer goes by too quick in both instances.

Now, as an adult, summer is different, but I still get excited! Summer now is more about family picnics, yard work, relaxing, and spending time with your loved ones. We plan on taking advantage of summer activities this year, so I decided to make a list of our top plans. Oh by the way, I took that picture below one summer in Pensacola, Florida. My husband was stationed there for awhile, and it was so much fun. We definitely have some wonderful summer memories there.

1. Go to a drive in movie.

2. Fishing trip at our local lake.

3. Hang up all our outdoor lights to finish up our backyard transformation! (Follow Instagram for updates)

4. Buy a kiddie pool for Ruger.

5. Go to downtown Fort Worth at night.

6. Make popsicles!

7. Have people over for a barbeque (and to enjoy all our backyard updates).

8. Take our 8 year wedding anniversary vacation somewhere totally new and special.

9. Spend time at our neighborhood park, which is walking distance! Ruger loved going as a puppy 🙂

Summer to do list! Take bulldog to the park

10. Experiment with some seasonal cookie recipes to give to customers (I’ve got a root beer float cookie in mind 🙂 )

11. Go to the Fort Worth Zoo.

12. Firefly watching from the patio and catching some in jars.

13. Take Ruger Swimming in the pool again.

Summer to Do list. Take the bulldog to the pool! That’s him last summer, he was such a baby then! He ended up loving the pool during the 100 degree days! So that is my top list of activities this summer. Do you follow me on instagram? Make sure you do so you can keep up with all our summer fun!

What is on your summer list? Tell me all about it!

  2. This looks like a great list! We are hoping to bring the kids to the FW Zoo soon. They want to go to a new zoo and we’ve never taken them there. Drive in movie has been on our list in the last but we’ve never made it! Maybe this summer!

    1. The FW Zoo is definitely the best one I have been too. I like it better then any other one in the U.S so you for sure need to go 🙂 We have a drive in movie in our town so we are hoping to go a few times!

    1. Thank you! We love to fish! We always bring a picnic lunch too and make it all all day thing 🙂

  3. I love the long, lazy days of summer. So much fun. You are so right; summer means different things in our different seasons of life. I hadn’t thought of it that way. Love that idea.

  7. Fireflies, popsicles and barbeques are definitely part of our summer plans. I just made a note to see how close a drive-in theatre might be. I have good memories of that as a kid.

    1. The drive-in is so great, I hope you can find one! Those sound like perfect summer plans 🙂

  8. Sounds like a fun list! Enjoy! Thank you so much for sharing at Thursday Favorite Things Blog Hop!

  9. I agree the Ft. Worth zoo is the best. We took our kids there when they were young. Enjoyed it immensely ! What fantastic memories I have of those trips. For a very close zoo, Caldwell Zoo, in Tyler, TX is not too shabby. I don’t hardly ever see fireflies anymore. But when I do, I get excited and ooo and ahhh.

    1. I used to go there all the time when I was young, and always loved it! This was the first time I have been back in years, and we just loved it! Fireflies always amaze me! I’m like a little kid outside running around to catch them 🙂
