The boardroom question: “What are we doing on AI?” The honest answer from many F&B players: “We’re still sorting out our data.” Datassential’s Pascal Hartwig has seen this gap first-hand. These businesses know their industry inside out, but many never got around to building a digital foundation. Without clean, connected data, even the most sophisticated AI tools are “wasted potential and wasted money.” The good news? More companies are now fixing the basics first, before diving into AI. What’s actually going into wraps in the UK? 🌯 We analysed 219,008 wrap items on UK menus to find out. Chicken dominates, BBQ beats tikka and mayo, and the term "vegetarian" is twice as common as "vegan." That leaves plenty of room for new ideas and bolder sauces to stand out. The State of Wraps UK 2026 report also covers which cuisines list the most wraps, recent chain launches, and the flavours to watch. Get your free copy at: https://hubs.la/Q04Cv79L0

Most wholesalers we speak to aren’t short on data as much as they’re short on time to use it. Operators want more than a supplier these days. They want a partner. With the right support and insights on tap, even a small team can go from taking orders to giving advice. And when margins are tight, that’s what keeps customers coming back. Thanks Wholesale News for letting us weigh in on wholesale efficiency! Read the full article at: https://hubs.la/Q04Cb03T0

Running a menu innovation session soon? Here’s how to make it count💡 At our most recent Elevate event, Datassential shared how to plan, facilitate, and follow up on innovation sessions with food and beverage teams. Our favorite takeaway: a great innovation session might give you fewer ideas, but it’ll give you better ones. A few tips: ✅ Bring all relevant functions to the table ✅ Ground ideas in data: what consumers want, not what the CEO likes ✅ Name an owner and send the recap within 48 hours, so good ideas don’t quietly die Read on for the full playbook, from choosing the right format and priming your team to structuring the day and keeping the pipeline moving. It ends with a checklist you can use at your next session. Access here: https://hubs.la/Q04C5mST0 #MenuInnovation #FoodAndBeverage #Foodservice #Datassential

In the age of AI, big foodservice brands can’t afford to rest on their laurels. That’s the warning given by Sarah Branagan of Omne during our fireside chat on digital transformation. 84% of foodservice operators now use AI to research suppliers and products, and it's levelling the playing field. In one example she shared, a well-known category leader didn’t show up in AI search results at all. Her take: recognition alone won’t get you on a buyer’s shortlist anymore. Brands need to think about what they want to be known for and make sure AI can find it. 🎥 Watch the full conversation with Pascal Hartwig on demand: https://hubs.la/Q04C6Tw20 #foodservice #ai #aistrategy #foodandbeverage
