A French friend was explaining to me why they liked Mexico
ça m'a fait découvrir la nourriture, la culture, les manières d'être et de vivre qui me fascine au Mexique
Later when I asked them to be more specific about what exactly interested them they repeated what they had said
La culture, le style, la nourriture; la façon d'être et de vivre, tout me fascine j'aime énormément ce pays
What I'm interested in is that they used two phrases to say the same thing: façon d'être and manière d'être. In general are there any differences between these terms? I tried and searched for some examples online but couldn't discern much of a difference. Also the French person used the plural les manières d'être in their first line and the singular la façon d'être. Are there any nuances? Which one is more generally used?
