In Spider-Man: Ultimate Power there are two in-game currencies:

  • Coins - common, generally unlocked by collecting them in-game, and is used for basic (but permanent) upgrades
  • ISO-8 crystals - rare - used for more premium upgrades, to skip wait times, to purchase temporary powerups (and "continues" after falling), and to unlock certain Spidey-suits.

You used to be able to purchase ISO-8 directly from the store, but the store is now defunct (given the game is delisted from Google Play, this is unsurprising):

Shop message: "These items are not available any more"

Which leaves us only with in-game ways of earning ISO-8.

What are the different methods of earning ISO-8? Is there a reliable way of earning it consistently?

The in-game methods of earning ISO-8 appear to be:

1. As a Daily Login Bonus

Daily login bonus

2. Completing a daily quest in Survival mode

Daily Task

3. Defeating a Boss to earn a chest

Of these methods, completing the Daily Survival quest appears to be the most consistent way of earning ISO-8, even if the amount you earn is fairly small.

The daily login bonus does not necessarily reward ISO-8 (so its consistency isn't great), and completing all the story-mode missions leading up to a boss fight is more time consuming.

Ultimately, if you're saving up to purchase one of the Spidey suits, the best thing you can do is try to do everything: play consistently, complete the daily challenge, aim to complete story missions, and don't spend the ISO-8 you unlock on items or revives. Just keep banking it until you have enough for a suit.
