I recall seeing a film, probably in the 1970s, featuring two kids, a boy and a girl aged probably about ten or twelve, getting involved in an adventure. I would say the film was made during the 1960s, and had a Disney feel to it (it could have even been a Disney film, though none of my searches have ever turned up anything in that direction). They may have had a dog with them. I think the kids spoke with British accents, and it was probably either a British or American film.

One thing that was definitely involved was an MG T-series motorcar. It looked a little like the image below, but it could have been a different marque:

An MG TC car

I think the car was red, but it might have been dark green. I remember them driving at speed through a forest, though I don't think that the kids were driving the car (so an adult may have been involved). I can't really remember anything else.

Edit:

  • It was not Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The car was newer than CCBB, and could not fly.
  • It was also not the Gnome Mobile. The car was definitely an MG T-series

  • Was it a musical? If so, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang comes to mind. Commented Mar 3, 2025 at 1:55

  • The Gnome Mobile comes to mind (Features same kids as Mary Poppins) but it is about the same era a CCBB. Commented Mar 3, 2025 at 13:25
  • I am not a car person but found this site which might help imcdb.org/search.php Commented Mar 3, 2025 at 17:42
  • Thank you @JohnP but it wasn't the Gnome Mobile either - the car was definitely an MG T series. Commented Mar 3, 2025 at 21:33

Could it possibly be The Littlest Horse Thieves (AKA Escape From The Dark) (1976)? It's a Disney film, with two kids that appear to be around 10-12 years old.

The red MG-looking vehicle appears at 1:23:48 in the film.

  • Thanks @TurboPT but that's not it. The car is definitely an MG T-series. But thank you anyway! Commented Mar 30, 2025 at 7:38
