I want to update multiple reports for my project. Currently I am able to update the report using visual Studio 19, but I need to use Visual Studio 2022 to create and update the reports.

Also for Visual Studio 2019 in Data Source, I am able to select:

That is Microsoft Dynamics 365 fetch, but the same is not available for Visual Studio 2022:

Is it possible to create/ update the existing reports using Visual Studio 2022, if so, how can I do that?

  • What's the real question here? You're already working with Reporting Services. Is the real question how to add a Dynamics 365 Fetch connection? Have you installed the drivers or extensions for this? Are there any? Reporting Services themselves are discontinued, so maybe whatever source you used in 2019 is discontinued as well Commented Nov 24 at 11:23
  • So through Dynamics 365 Fetch I used to fetch the data in fetch XML which was being used in vs19 for vs 22 it is not showing. Is there any other why or solution to do the same in vs22 Commented Nov 24 at 11:54
  • So it's not a real data source but a web service. Googling for this returns pages suggesting it's a CRM 2016 feature. How did you install support for this? SSRS itself never included this as a source - SSRS was released in 2005 as part of SQL Server 2005. You must have added an extension for this. You'll have to find the same, if it's still supported. BTW CRM 2016 is probably not supported any more either Commented Nov 24 at 12:02

The only match I can find is about the Customer Engagement feature. Those docs show you do need to install the Dynamics 365 Report Authoring which is not available for VS 2022. Commented Nov 24 at 12:11
