  • 397km. OVER 70 TEAM MEMBERS. AND A WHOLE LOT OF YELLOW! Throughout September, Team Selfridges took on our Million Makers challenge for The King's Trust, collectively walking and cycling the distance from our Trafford store in Manchester all the way to Oxford Street in London. Along the way, we raised over £6,500 to support young people across the UK and took in a few sights too. From Old Trafford and canal-side walks in Manchester, to giant giraffes in Birmingham and London adventures with Gordon, our yellow gnome, who made it to Kensington Palace Gardens, Buckingham Palace, took in some art and even found time for a deckchair break. We donned our best yellow, used our volunteering days and, most importantly, made time to connect. Because belonging is built through connection walking, talking and laughing with people we might not cross paths with every day. We’re incredibly proud of our partnership with The King’s Trust and the impact we can make together. A huge shout-out to Team Selfridges who walked, cycled, donated and cheered us on! #TeamSelfridges #TheKingsTrust #MillionMakers

A SUMMER OF PRIDE 🌈 We may be heading into a new season and starting the countdown to Christmas, but what a summer of Pride it’s been at Selfridges. Pride is always an important moment for us, and our Proud at Selfridges community helps create opportunities for our teams to celebrate, show their support and get involved. This summer, we’ve proudly shown up across all our locations, joining Pride celebrations in Birmingham, hosting a Pride quiz with our Leicester teams, taking to the streets of London and, most recently, wrapping up our summer of Pride in Manchester. And our teams really did show up in all their yellow and rainbow glory celebrating who they are, supporting one another and embracing every Self. Allyship matters too. Scott Lynch, our Director of People & Communications joined our teams for London Pride, while Head of DEI Sharlene John and Taylor Clarity Merran Head of Retail - Exchange Square, joined the Manchester celebrations, showing the importance of visible support from leaders across our business. This year, one of our Manchester team brought along an extra-special guest. Luciana, a Sales Associate at Trafford, joined the parade with her son, Kaike. She shared: “I felt so proud to be showing my support not only to the LGBTQ+ community, but especially my son. I loved seeing him smiling and enjoying the day, despite the rain. We danced, we laughed and I made memories with my son and my work colleagues that will endure a lifetime!” And really, that’s what Pride is all about, creating spaces where people feel celebrated, supported and free to be themselves. Thank you, Luciana, for bringing such a special part of your family to share the day with us. Same time next year? Selfridges chose LOVE this summer 💛 #TeamSelfridges #Pride #ProudAtSelfridges #EmbraceEverySelf

  • SUNNY DAYS AND VOLUNTEERING, JUST HOW AUGUST SHOULD BE! August is Volunteering Month at Selfridges, and with every team member able to take up to five volunteering days a year, #TeamSelfridges has been getting out and supporting causes and communities close to their hearts. This month, team members have taken part in a Thames beach clean, helping to protect one of London’s most iconic spaces, and supported Centrepoint with gardening projects; planting, painting and refreshing outdoor spaces for young people. Our partnership with Oxfam continues to grow too, with more in-store volunteering opportunities across all our regions, from sorting donations to visual merchandising and pricing pre-loved fashion. Georgia, our Company Volunteering Lead, says: “It’s inspiring to see so many team members giving their time to charities, fundraisers and community projects. From cleaning our Thames beaches and organising charity cook-outs to refreshing outdoor spaces for young people and supporting conservation work, there really is an opportunity for everyone to make a meaningful difference.” And while Volunteering Month might be coming to a close, the opportunities certainly aren’t. Next up is The Yellow Road, our first Million Makers initiative in partnership with The King's Trust. In September, #TeamSelfridges will come together to cover the 397km between our stores from the Trafford Centre to Exchange Square, through Birmingham and all the way to Oxford Street. Team members will be walking, running, cycling and completing the route virtually, using their volunteering days to help us move heels and raise vital funds to support young people through The King’s Trust. Want to help us along The Yellow Road? Sponsor a team member or donate to Team Yellow Headliners below. 👉 https://lnkd.in/epyRSsfU

  • CELEBRATING UNITY IN DIVERSITY FOR SOUTH ASIAN HERITAGE MONTH This year’s South Asian Heritage Month theme was Unity in Diversity, and #TeamSelfridges really brought this to life throughout the month with celebrations, conversations and meaningful action. We hosted a powerful conversation for team members across all our locations, joined by internal speakers and Jamie Gill from The Outsiders Perspective, exploring family, lived experience and why our differences should be celebrated. Our teams also came together over Chats and Chai, lantern making, henna and fashion shows, celebrating the vibrant culture and heritage of South Asia. But inclusion is about more than moments in the calendar. It’s also about creating meaningful opportunities, supporting progression and helping people realise their potential. That’s why it was particularly special to see a cohort of colleagues graduate from our Your Future Self programme, designed to support the progression and development of our ethnically diverse team members. As graduate Suebera shared: “I felt encouraged, heard, and gently challenged to be vulnerable in a safe, nurturing space.” Celebration and progression, what a way to mark South Asian Heritage Month 2026!  #SouthAsianHeritageMonth #UnityInDiversity #TeamSelfridges #OpenToTheWorld
