Cindy Moffitt liked thisCindy Moffitt liked thisF You…….F You Too….What play do you want to run? I remember playing UCLA at Pauley Pavilion. I made a pass, the ball was tipped out of bounds, and it was still our ball. I looked at Coach Izzo and asked, “What play do you want?” He responded with a well-timed F You. I gave him an F You Too. And we moved on. 😂 I don’t know what caused his reaction, it might be because he called me the worst passer in the history of basketball (different story for a different time). Looking back, I laugh about it but I also think about the trust behind that moment. Everyone sees how tough he is on players during games but the magic of this interaction happened when we sat together in the airport talking or how he grabbed my dad to talk with him about it. The conversations could be colorful but they were always honest, regardless if it was in the locker room or airport.
