Ezekiel Bronfman shared thisExcited to be speaking at Founderland next week and catch up with all our CPG friends! Thanks Josh Wand and Sean Kelly for giving us a chance to highlight absorption. And grateful to be on a panel with legends Jeff Byers Chuck Cotter and Jim PhillipsEzekiel Bronfman shared thisIn the sea of supplement sameness... These brands and founders stand out. By creating products with real, functional innovation... Leading to a massively elevated user experience (and the customer obsession that comes with it). Jeff Byers is scaling Momentous into one of the most trusted VMS platforms on the planet through unparalleled quality, transparency and (real) science Ezekiel Bronfman is utilizing proprietary absorption technology via The Absorption Company. to create supplements your body actually absorbs (rather than just pees out), and Jim Phillips has turned Graymatter into one of the most beloved brands in the cognition space...helping people "lock-in" without the negative side effects I'm a power user of all 3 of these brands (I have an entire room dedicated to Momentous ha) and we at the The Family Fund & Founder Community are fortunate to be investors in 2/3. Fired-up for the audience to pickup what these top-tier founders will be laying down at Founderland in Malibu next Thursday October 1st. Just one week away... Thanks to my legendary attorney Chuck Cotter for moderating and the top tier law firm of Morrison Foerster for sponsoring this scintillating talk. Appreciate your partnership and all you do to support the consumer industry. Let's roll! Josh Wand

Ezekiel Bronfman shared thisIntroducing our newest innovation: The world’s most advance Hair Growth + Hair Health formula. Powered by ingredients with up to 53x better absorption. This one is personal for me. I first started losing my hair at 19 years old. My little brother noticed it first, but I dismissed it, wrongly assuming that balding was something that only happens to people in their 50s (and mostly because he was my little brother). I have tried everything-- prescriptions, topicals, PRP. But nothing stopped my hairline from receding. My story is hardly unique; about 50% of the population, men and women, experiences hair thinning at some point in their life. And that is why we have been working so hard on this formula for the last two years. The results were well worth the wait: up to 33% less shedding in the first month, 54% thicker hair vs placebo after 3 months, and up to 3x denser follicles in month 6. All proven in clinical studies. Hair loss is different for everybody, but it is generally caused by four key factors: Hormones, Stress, Nutrition, and Structural Strength We formulated Hair to address all four: -Hair uses Saw Palmetto, which is 75x more potent than standard forms, to block the hormone causing hair loss, DHT. -It also includes Ashwaganda with 17.5x better absorption to regulate cortisol and reduce stress-triggered shedding -It features Silicon with 53x better absorption to support the structural strength of each follicle and each strand -And it includes foundational nutrients like folate, Vitamins A, C, B6, Biotin, to make sure every strand gets the nutrients it needs to thrive. The early reception for this product has been overwhelming. We already have over 44,000 people on our Exclusive Early Access list and this product will sell out fast. Sign up now to secure your spot and try Hair before anybody else: https://lnkd.in/gJGrzjz5 Like everything we do at The Absorption Company, each ingredient was selected to optimize for bio-availability and absorption. Because no matter how powerful any nutrient may be, it only works if it reaches the follicles. Absorb more. Grow more. Amazing work by Michael Johnson Daniel J. Larkin Gabriela Lester-Coll and their teams who have all been working late nights and early mornings to cross every single T and dot every single I for this launch. Ezekiel Bronfman shared thisA year ago we concentrated our focus on becoming a best in class subscription dtc business. At the time, we were not defaulting to subscription, our discounting strategy was confusing and did not incentivize subscription enough, our buy box was not optimized, we didn’t offer GWPs, our site was not modular (so every slight tweak required dev hours) and our subscription take rate was far too low. We brought in DTCPG (Jordan Narducci + Florentina Forgione) to optimize the foundations of our subscription funnel, we rebuilt our site with Platter (Ben Sharf) and migrated to Skio (Aidan Thibodeaux ). Six months later: → 3X active subscriber growth → 5X subscription revenue growth → Subscription opt-in rate up 3X The months since then have been even more transformative, and now make those numbers from just a few months ago look almost laughable. Even with all the best e-com tactics and optimizations, retention and subscription starts with product that makes sense and delivers. In January, we launched our Foundational Supplement Line (Magnesium, Berberine, Curcumin, CoQ10, and Vit D). In April we launched WLP-1, a daily natural weight management solution. Both launches dramatically step-changed our subscription take rate and AOV. Lots more exciting innovation to come! It all starts with the foundation: Make the value visible. Stack the incentives. Make subscription the obvious choice. Deliver a product that lives up to the expectations. Thanks to DTCCPG, Platter, SKIO, and our dream team: Michael Johnson , Chris Scott , Leslie Denton , Josiah Coe Full case study below (though probably requires an update post our recent innovation): https://lnkd.in/eJ96_EeZHow DTCPG Quadrupled Absorption Company's Subscription Opt-In with Skio - skio: subscriptions for shopifyHow DTCPG Quadrupled Absorption Company's Subscription Opt-In with Skio - skio: subscriptions for shopify

Ezekiel Bronfman liked thisEzekiel Bronfman liked thisHow can a small VC firm produce Founderland? Easy answer. We don't. My wife Shannon Kelly does. Without her and her team working year-round to build this invite-only, 1,000+ person B2B festival... The Family Fund wouldn't be able to produce anything remotely close to this. We need to spend the far majority of our time investing and helping our PortCo founders win. So when I had the idea for Founderland a few years ago, there was only one reason I wasn't looked at as if I was insane... It's because Shannon is our secret weapon. And prior to running events and experiences at our fund, spent years building Coachella, the Long Beach Grand Prix, Outside Lands and other scintillating shows. Sure, Josh Wand and I need to get the right people to the event...and that matters immensely... But the majority of the credit for what Founderland has become belongs to Shannon and her team. You're incredible Shannon. I'm honored to be your partner in more ways than one. Thank you from all of us at The Family Fund. Let's roll!

I have written a lot lately about protein and where the category is heading. This deal is another data point worth paying attention to. Second Nature Brands, the PE-backed snacking platform behind Brownie Brittle, Sahale Snacks and Voortman, just agreed to acquire Tillamook Country Smoker. Tillamook generates more than $175 million in annual sales and makes clean-label zero-sugar jerky, beef sticks and sausages. This is Second Nature's first move into protein snacks. The category numbers explain why. Dried meat snack sales excluding jerky rose 10.7% to $3.3 billion in 2024. PepsiCo entered this year with Good Warrior. Chomps, Jack Link's Protein Snacks and Archer Meat Snacks are all scaling. The category has gone from a niche better-for-you play to one of the most competitive aisles in the store in a very short window. For Second Nature, Tillamook gives them a platform in a category with real consumer tailwinds. For CapVest, the PE firm backing Second Nature, this is the roll-up playbook working exactly as designed. Buy castoffs and undermanaged brands, add distribution muscle and retail relationships, and let the category growth do some of the work. The harder question is whether clean-label meat snacks can hold their positioning as the category gets crowded with scaled players. Full article: https://lnkd.in/gvsRjjzQ

GENERAL MILLS SELLS MUIR GLEN TO VIOLET FOODS Violet Foods, a portfolio company of Amphora Equity Partners, has acquired Muir Glen from General Mills. Financials undisclosed. General Mills acquired Muir Glenn in 2000 to expand into organic foods. The company divested Food Should Taste Good in 2023 and its North American yogurt business ($2.1B to Groupe Lactalis in 2025). Amphora is a F&B specialist PE firm launched in 2025 by two Brynwood Partners veterans and has been moving aggressively in the tomato category acquiring Don Pepino and Sclafani from B&G Foods Inc.. Another deal on the wave of CPG conglomerates shedding smaller, mature assets while PE firms capitalize on these carve-out opportunities. Similar PE carve-outs are: - General Mills selling Helper and Suddenly to Eagle Family Foods for $610M (2.60x sales) - Conagra Brands selling Chef Boyardee to Brynwood for $600M (1.33x sales) - B&G Foods acquired College Inn & Kitchen Basics for $100M for 2.2x ebitda

Important discussion shared by PeakBridge on ultra-processed foods and the clean-label movement that is growing louder. But one surprising reality is rarely discussed: Most “vanilla flavor” used in food products is not real vanilla. Not because companies don’t want to use it — but because natural vanilla supply has historically been too fragile, volatile, and limited to support global demand. For decades, the industry filled this gap with synthetic flavor systems. If the food industry is truly moving toward cleaner labels and real ingredients, then the ingredient supply chains behind them must evolve as well. At Vanilla Vida, our mission is to help enable that shift by building a scalable and reliable natural vanilla supply chain — combining controlled farming and industrial curing to bring stability to a historically unpredictable crop. #TheVanillaParadox

Searching for growth? General Mills has announced plans to boldly go after the over 55s in their quest to increase volumes. While much of CPG chases 18-45s or the latest wellness fad, General Mills is placing its bets on three under-the-radar, high-leverage consumer groups: - Adults aged 55 +, who account for nearly half of U.S. households and have enormous spending power. - Consumers using GLP-1 medications (up to 12%+ of U.S. adults), who’re eating less but seeking more protein, more functional nutrients, smaller portions. - Hispanic shoppers, where General Mills plans to ramp up innovation and engagement by ~40% in FY26. This move takes product renovation in new directions - redesigning products and formats to match how people now live, eat and feel. They’re innovating for smaller households (smaller pack sizes), higher-protein need states, functional nutrition and not just indulgence. And this isn’t an isolated move. It’s part of a broader CPG reboot as the absence of growth looms. One thing I appreciated in my conversation with Paul Weaver was the operator’s lens behind the headline. Paul directly addresses whether Big Alcohol and the 🌿 industry are enemies; and argues that Boston Beer’s participation makes it an ally for regulated access. For founders and beverage teams, the broader lesson is that category growth still has to meet product quality, regulatory durability, and a defendable reason to win.
