Matthew Sztab shared thisBig moment for Recess and the relaxation beverage category! Walmart’s new “Mood & Mind” set gives this emerging category a dedicated home, with Recess Mood singles and 4pks featured in more than 1,000 stores. What excites me most is making these products easier to discover during an everyday shopping trip. Giving shoppers a clear place to find beverages that fit the moments they want to relax and unwind is an important step toward building an everyday habit. I believe there’s a significant opportunity to grow the beverage aisle around this occasion, and I’m excited for Recess to help lead that work. Proud of the Recess team for bringing this to life, and grateful to our partners at Walmart for recognizing the opportunity and helping move the category forward. https://lnkd.in/gwf-bjZBRecess Leads Walmart’s New “Mood & Mind” Set as Relaxation Beverages Go MassRecess Leads Walmart’s New “Mood & Mind” Set as Relaxation Beverages Go Mass

Matthew Sztab reposted thisMatthew Sztab reposted thisHealth-Ade is betting on Lindsay Lohan to help take kombucha further into the mainstream. 🍎🥤 The No. 2 refrigerated kombucha brand has tapped the actress to star in a new campaign developed by Juxtapose Studios, positioning its Pink Lady Apple flavor as approachable and lifestyle-driven. The partnership leans into millennial nostalgia and 2010s culture, with the brand aiming to “demystify” kombucha as it continues to grow sales (+0.7% to $180M) even as the overall refrigerated kombucha category declined 5.5% to $726M, per Circana. The campaign follows Health-Ade’s $500 million acquisition by Generous Brands and comes as the company looks to broaden appeal across its 700,000 retail doors nationwide. 📈 Link to the full story in the first comment below 👇 #Kombucha #BeverageIndustry #MarketingStrategy #CelebrityMarketing #CPG #HealthAndWellness #RetailTrends

Ice cream is truly the unhealthiest thing you can eat. Until now… I wanted a healthy ice cream. I couldn’t find it so I started making it myself out of cottage cheese. Introducing FroCo Smearcase FroCo is the worlds first frozen cottage cheese. Half the fat, half the calories and the most protein per any pint. Our FroCo is a complete gamechanger.

Constellation Brands posted a smaller-than-expected drop in second-quarter sales, aided by steady demand for beer, even as the company's key Hispanic consumers reel from the Trump administration's immigration policies. CEO Bill Newlands said the company was navigating a "challenging socioeconomic environment that has dampened consumer demand," but its beer business outperformed the industry. https://lnkd.in/e9e4X59b #drinks #sales #profit #beer

GLP-1 is undoubtedly the greatest revolution the Food industry has seen in years. Tate & Lyle has been actively contributing in several discussions on the topic based on great proprietary research into users, former users and non users of GLP-1 (follow Tate & Lyle and Emma Cahill to stay on top of the topic!). In this article on FoodBev Media I had the opportunity to bring the lens of 'Mouthfeel' and the role of the sensorial experience of foods for consumers on and off GLP-1 drugs, a key considerations in formulation besides the nutritional content. "GLP-1s are reshaping the conversation around food and drink. Whether consumers are navigating medication-linked reduced appetites, adjusting to changes post-medication use, or boosting their fibre and protein intake, their needs converge around a clear expectation: food and drink must work harder to satisfy their physical, nutritional, and emotional needs. This goes beyond macros. It's about how products feel to eat and drink." https://lnkd.in/ezaV--cu

Another entry into the #nonalcoholicbeer category launched by the guys that brought us Casamigos Tequila. It's a definite sign of the times as low and no booze alcohol alternatives continue to grow. Just seven years ago, non-alcoholic beer accounted for .3% of total American beer sales, but that number has jumped to upwards of 5% of total beer sales as reported by San Diego Beer News last month. Distribution just sped up and a lot of brands are about to feel it. Pernod didn’t wait. They pulled out of RNDC and reshuffled the map overnight. Southern, Reyes, Johnson Brothers, everyone’s grabbing territory. Here’s the part nobody wants to say out loud: If you’re sitting on RNDC in those states and you haven’t made the call yet, you’re already behind. 60 to 90 days of chaos is coming. Rep turnover. Account gaps. Missed placements. And while that’s happening, the big three are locking in control. At the same time Tequila’s getting dragged through lawsuits. EU volumes are soft. And one warehouse glitch just cost retailers a peak season. This isn’t noise. This is the shift. My take: If you don’t know exactly who’s moving your product by June, you don’t have a plan. I break it all down in today’s DrinkUP Podcast Daily Industry Brief. Make the call this week. Truthfully, Sam #beverageindustry #distribution #drinkup #alcoholindustry #salesstrategy

Searching for growth? General Mills has announced plans to boldly go after the over 55s in their quest to increase volumes. While much of CPG chases 18-45s or the latest wellness fad, General Mills is placing its bets on three under-the-radar, high-leverage consumer groups: - Adults aged 55 +, who account for nearly half of U.S. households and have enormous spending power. - Consumers using GLP-1 medications (up to 12%+ of U.S. adults), who’re eating less but seeking more protein, more functional nutrients, smaller portions. - Hispanic shoppers, where General Mills plans to ramp up innovation and engagement by ~40% in FY26. This move takes product renovation in new directions - redesigning products and formats to match how people now live, eat and feel. They’re innovating for smaller households (smaller pack sizes), higher-protein need states, functional nutrition and not just indulgence. And this isn’t an isolated move. It’s part of a broader CPG reboot as the absence of growth looms.
