James Slack-Smith shared thisWe're kicking off a search for a world-class Chief Technology Officer to join the team at hims & hers!James Slack-Smith shared thisToday, we kicked off our search for a CTO at hims & hers. When people ask me if hims & hers is a healthcare company or a technology company, I usually say it is both. Hims & Hers is a healthcare company built on a technical idea: we believe that connecting the right patient with the right personalized treatment will result in better clinical outcomes – and we’re doing it with a strong technical backbone for the platform that already serves more than 1.5 million people. But I know we have the potential to impact every household in the country – and we’re ready to build for that future now. Doing that requires massively scaling our already-incredible engineering organization, which is why we started our search today for our next c-suite addition: a Chief Technology Officer who is just as obsessed with the customer experience as the rest of the company and is excited about what AI and machine learning can do for the healthcare experience of everyone in this country. The healthcare industry is going through a digital transformation that requires companies to meet people where they actually are – and we’re at the forefront of that transformation. I’m looking for a technical leader who can partner with the entire executive team to leverage the power of our platform, the capabilities of our world-class team, and our strong customer relationships to scale our business to a place we can’t even begin to imagine today. When I think about the kind of legacy hims & hers is building, I know our ability to consistently deliver an impactful experience for every customer who comes to our platform looking for support is contingent on our ability to build a competitive, customer-centric technical product. Our CTO will be a leader who helps bring that to life. Reach out to be a part of the work and join us on our mission to help the world feel great through the power of better health!

James Slack-Smith liked thisJames Slack-Smith liked thisWe were lucky to have Dara Treseder (CMO of Autodesk) join us for a fireside chat with my team two weeks ago. Two different brands on similar journeys, from product to platform. Dara shared candidly about her career, the wins and the ones that didn't go as planned, and what she learned from each. Three things stuck with me: --Transformation isn't something you tell people to do. You need to bring everyone along. -- Alliances across the company matter, and so does advocating for the customer, even when it's the harder path. -- Human craft makes the difference. AI can raise the floor, but humans will set the ceiling. And maybe the biggest one: enjoy the journey. Transformation isn't a destination as much as a mindset, so you'd better like the ride. Fresh outside perspective is a gift. Thank you, Dara, for the time and the candor. 🙏🏼

At this stage of my career, it’s increasingly important that my work connects to a mission that matters deeply. And I can’t think of a mission more important than saving lives & improving quality of life for those suffering from debilitating diseases. That’s why I’m excited to share that I’ve joined Intuitive (the pioneer & market leader in robotic-assisted, minimally invasive surgical systems) as Vice President, Global Talent. (I’ll be leading the full end-to-end talent function – including TA, TM, & L&D.) If you’re not familiar with Intuitive, a few fun facts: 📈 We’re a publicly listed company (ISRG) with >$10B in revenue and a track record of sustained profitable growth 🧑⚕️ Our DaVinci & Ion platforms have been used by surgeons to treat more than 20 million patients worldwide 🚴 Patients treated with Intuitive’s robotic systems have measurably superior outcomes - shorter hospital stays, faster recovery, & reduced risk of post-op complications 🌎 We have ~20,000 employees who are supremely talented, mission-driven, highly engaged, & committed to putting patients first in all that they do And what makes this next chapter even more exciting is the opportunity to work with & learn from my long-time mentor & friend Pat Wadors and an incredible leadership team including Mary Kerbs, Faranak Raissi, Janet M. Coatney, Mary Anne (Mav) Viegelmann, & Danielle Torbic. I’m feeling grateful, inspired, & genuinely energized about the journey ahead 🚀 Oh – and WE’RE HIRING - so to the amazing talent professionals in my network, please keep an eye out for open roles on our team!

James Slack-Smith liked thisJames Slack-Smith liked thisFour weeks from today, my book comes out. I'm bracing myself for the reactions. The book is called Work is...WORK!, and I already know what's coming. Some people will read it and think it's anti-woke. It's not, but I understand why it'll feel that way on the surface. Some will think it's cold. That I'm saying "stop caring about people." I'm not saying that either. But here's what I am saying: we've gone too far making work mean everything that we forgot to ask whether that's good for anyone. Spoiler: it's not. Not for the CEO who became a therapist. Not for the employee who can't remember what they used to do on weekends. The real message is simpler than people will want it to be. If work is taking over your life, that's not a badge of honor. That's your sign to build a life worth protecting. Because work will take as much of your life as you let it. And if you're letting it, that's not a work problem. That's a life problem. I wrote this book knowing it would poke people on both sides. I wrote it anyway, because I think both sides are suffering from the same thing and neither one can see it yet. September 22nd. I'm nervous and I'm ready.

I joined BetterUp with a deep belief in the company’s mission to help people live with greater clarity, purpose, & passion. I leave transformed, a better version of myself. And I believe BetterUp’s mission is more important now than ever. For the last 2 quarters, I’ve served as Interim Chief Customer Officer, building-out our new Customer Experience & Services Org. It’s been a period of tremendous learning, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built (and the impact it’s having on our customers)! But now it’s time for me to get back to the work I’m most passionate about - scaling talent-dense companies that matter to humanity. A few shout-outs: - Thank you Alexi Robichaux & John Eldh for inspiring me, believing in me, pushing me, & supporting me - your leadership mattered! - Thank you to the countless BetterUppers who’ve been fellow travelers on this journey. I can’t imagine a group of more passionate, talented, curious, interesting, & deeply human people. - Thank you to Ronit LeMon Deneen, MCC CPCC MA - my sherpa & coach, you’re simply the best! I leave with immense gratitude, invaluable memories, and friendships I will cherish for years to come. My cup is full. Thank you, BetterUp! Most people think RPO is just "outsourcing" your hiring, but it’s actually a strategic partnership where an expert team embeds into your culture to own the entire talent lifecycle. It’s not just about filling seats today, it’s about building a scalable engine that lowers your costs and secures your company’s future talent. Is your current hiring model a quick fix or a long-term strategy? Let’s chat in the DMs if you're ready to move beyond "transactional" staffing. #RPO #TalentAcquisition #StaffingSolutions #HiringStrategy #BusinessGrowth #RecruitmentPartnership

Recruitment Process Outsourcing has evolved and so have the expectations of forward-thinking talent leaders. At the 2025 RPOA Annual Conference in Chicago, one truth came into focus: What once set RPO providers apart—cost-per-hire, time-to-fill, delivery models—is now the bare minimum. Today, leading RPO partners are not just hiring support—they are strategic enablers of business resilience. If your organization is navigating change, growth, or disruption, your RPO program should help you build a workforce that can adapt in real time—not just fill open reqs. This is the shift from transactional recruiting to transformational talent strategy. Workforce agility Talent intelligence Scalable hiring models aligned to business priorities These are the new drivers of value in Recruitment Process Outsourcing. Are you leveraging your RPO as a true partner in transformation? We recently helped a company reduce cost per hire, trim down time to fill on tough technical and niche roles to 53 days and save $145K in agency fees and improve their candidate quality by 31%. Reach out if you are interested in learning how this model can support your business needs. #RecruitmentProcessOutsourcing #TalentAcquisition #WorkforceStrategy #BusinessAgility #ScalableHiring #TransformationalRPO #HRLeadership #AmplifyRPO #FutureOfWork #TAstrategy

Found the latest article From the Mind of Matt Charney very interesting to read indeed. Would love to hear your thoughts? Particularly this piece: Skills-based Hiring Isn’t Going To Happen. We’ve been talking about skills based hiring for decades now, but given the complexities of today’s labor market – and the perfect storm of increased scrutiny and budget austerity impacting almost every external hire – the entire concept is even less practical and more asinine than ever, if that’s even possible. While skills based hiring will likely remain a favorite headline in trade publications and a mainstay on conference agendas throughout the industry in 2026, that’s not because it’s a trend, or even particularly relevant. It just flatters HR leaders into thinking that they’re being progressive and agile in their approach to talent acquisition and management. In reality, though, employers continue to hire for pedigree and experience, a talent tactic that looks to become even more pronounced, only with new terminology and some specious skills taxonomy pasted on post-facto.

AI isn’t coming for staffing - it’s coming through it. Over the next decade, 80% of what recruiting firms do today will be automated. The scheduling, the sourcing, the filtering - gone. But the need to deploy capability - to get the right people solving the right problems, fast - isn’t going anywhere. It’s just changing form. The future of staffing isn’t about filling jobs. It’s about orchestrating outcomes - combining human judgment, data, and AI into one system that delivers precision, accountability, and speed. The firms that survive this shift will: ✅ Own their data ✅ Automate the repetitive ✅ Sell outcomes, not effort ✅ Stay human where it matters Everyone else will get squeezed out by algorithms and efficiency curves. This isn’t bad news - it’s the next evolution. And those of us willing to rebuild our models around it? We’re not waiting for disruption. We’re engineering it. If you’re rethinking how your team hires, scales, or adapts in the AI era let’s talk.

66% of recruiters say finding quality talent has become harder heading into 2026. Top recruiters now report: • Hiring volume slowing • Application volume increasing • Candidates using AI to game screening processes Whatever your playbook was in 2024 or 2025, it’s outdated. Candidates aren’t just evaluating roles. If you think quality talent is getting harder to find because the market changed, you’re pointing at the symptom, not the cause. How are you evolving your recruiting strategy to match the new reality? Read about it: https://lnkd.in/g5YzvYRS

Stop trying to solve a flexible problem with a fixed solution. Ted Pierni, our Head of Deliveey, explains why the "light switch" approach to recruiting (hiring in panic, firing in freezes) is obsolete. The future belongs to organizations that build an elastic Talent Operating System. This is the blueprint for resilience. #worforceplanning #talentstrategy #RPO
