JD Peterson shared thisSo I did a thing last night. A one minute stand-up comedy routine in front of 125+ people. It was part of my friend Jessie Jakes 🖤 brand new, incredible comedy experience show about work, "Work Is A Joke". While being on stages and using humor has always been part of my game, having to actually build a one minute set in the actual context of a comedy show turned out to be....pretty freakin stressful! Writing for an audience EXPECTING you to be funny and being constrained to 1 minute was a lot harder than I thought it would be! It ended up being all a blur to me but I'm told it went well ;). Videos will be posted at some point so you can be the judge....and either laugh at me or with me! The Laugh is all that matters! This experience was a good reminder to push yourself. Get out of your comfort zone. Try the hard thing. And while we are all experiencing varying levels of fear about what AI is going to do to our jobs and humanity, I don't believe AI will ever replace human to human experiences like this. Find these and lean into them! We're not going to stop watching humans tell jokes. AI isn't going to replace the emotions of the stress, relief, and subsequent joy that comes from moments like these. AI will never create the community I saw on display last night in Oakland. Work is a Joke will continue on, stay tuned with the website to see if and when it is coming to your city! Or reach out to Jessie and tell her to bring it to you! https://workisajoke.com/Work is a Joke — A Comedy Experience About the Absurdity of WorkWork is a Joke — A Comedy Experience About the Absurdity of Work

JD Peterson shared thisIs this thing on? 🎤 I hope so because next week I will be stumbling onto a stage with one of these in my hand to drop some (hopefully) funny business onto a room full of people with at least one thing in common: we work for a living! Honored to be a part of this experience that my friend Jessie Jakes 🖤 is building! Want to join us? Trust me there will be funnier people than me! JD Peterson shared thisArtificial intelligence isn't just changing how work gets done. It's redefining what it takes to manage the people doing it. Anyone who is a Manager is struggling with what it means to manage in the age of AI. Super proud of this research report on the subject that our team put together. https://lnkd.in/gzV7BvuJ

JD Peterson shared thisCome listen to how we built the first benchmarks for how AI models handle employee feedback and workforce topics!JD Peterson shared thisWhat happens when AI starts interpreting the voices of your workforce? I'm looking forward to joining Joseph Freed (Founder, PYX Labs) and Sarah Foster (Director, PYX Labs) to discuss what we're learning about AI in employee listening, where today's models perform well, where they fall short, and what that means for organizations. As AI becomes part of how organizations understand people, questions of judgment, governance, and organizational design become increasingly important. Hope you'll join us at the first-ever PYX Labs webcast tomorrow, August 5! JD Peterson shared thisGreat time talking about all things hiring with my great friend Andy Mowat! Andy is building Whispered to help the best GTM Executives and amazing companies find each other! Check it out if you are in the job market. It's ironic talking about hiring with Andy, because when I reflect on my (long) career, it is hard to think of too many (ok, any) hires I made that were more impactful than Andy. The fact that he is someone I will forever call a friend made it that much more special. Super fun chat! Check it out to hear some of my thoughts and try to ignore my messy background! ;) Link to full episode in the comments

JD Peterson shared thisExcited! As the world continues to rely on AI more and more every day to answer questions, find information, and get advice, a big question still exists. Are the AI models "right"? At Perceptyx, our focus is on the the world of work and this question is one we have been thinking a lot about. How good are the models at understanding employees and the workplace? Until today, no one had a clue! But now with PYX Labs, we have taken our 20+ years of experience, Enterprise data, and team of I/O Psychologists and built the world's first public benchmarks for understanding how popular AI models perform in the realm of the workplace. Our mission is to define what "good" looks like and help others to measure up to that standard. It all starts today! check it out at https://www.pyxlabs.ai/JD Peterson shared thisExciting day at Perceptyx we're introducing PYX Labs! Building AI products in HR Tech for the last 10 years and this may be my favorite launch. As AI becomes part of how organizations listen to employees, understand teams, and make decisions about their people, one question has become more important than ever: How do we know if these models are actually good at this work? For coding and math there are well-established public benchmarks. For understanding employees and how AI performs in the workplace, there wasn't. That's why we built PYX Labs. Our mission is to define what "good" looks like for workplace AI through independent benchmarks and expert evaluation, developed by the I/O psychologists who have spent decades helping the world's leading organizations understand their people. Today, we've taken the first step with the launch of PYX-Voice, the first benchmark designed to evaluate how frontier AI models perform real employee listening tasks—from interpreting open-ended feedback to generating insights leaders can act on. We learned that models generally do well on structured analysis, but consistently struggle when the work requires nuanced judgment. And perhaps most surprisingly, the highest-performing model wasn't the one built for the most advanced reasoning. The goal is to help the HR tech entire industry build workplace AI that's more reliable, more trustworthy, and ultimately more useful for organizations and employees alike. We're already working toward additional benchmarks and helping improve models through expert evaluation and post-training. A huge thank you to our incredible research team at Perceptyx, and to Melissa Valentine and Ethan Burris for helping shape this work. You can find the link to the details and new website in the comments. I'd love to hear what you think!

JD Peterson posted thisSomething in the water? The last week or two I am seeing a massive rise in what I'll call "hustle porn". On LinkedIN but my other feeds as well. It feels like the industry has shifted back to focusing on and glamorizing "9-9-6", sleeping in the office, food onsite (so no one leaves!), etc. It's always been a part of startup culture in some way, but every few years it seems to really peak in terms of people talking about it (granted, mostly VCs and founders). Anyone else noticing this rise? Curious as to why and why now. A thought: Maybe take the minutes you spent writing posts about how hard you work and call your mom. Grab a coffee with a non-work related friend (assuming you still have some). Take a walk outside. Read something interesting. Play an instrument. Something, anything else! I promise it will actually make you a better (insert whatever you do)!

JD Peterson liked thisJD Peterson liked thisIn 2007 I built Marketo Smart Campaigns. Today we launched what replaces them. Smart Campaigns helped define a category. But rules are brittle, can't move at the speed of life, and eventually break down. (Just try debugging the spiderweb of 30,000 active triggered Smart Campaigns.) And rules can only show you the past. Phave shows you the future. Every person gets a Playlist, their own plan of every touch for the next 30 days. Marketers can see what's coming and focus on strategy and content, not debugging rules. This wasn't possible in 2007, and still isn't possible for platforms built on rules. Thanks to Jon Miller, Nick Bonfiglio, and the whole team. See it live on September 29, when Jon and Scott Brinker of chiefmartec host our launch event: https://lnkd.in/eG4UgvBq Phave.com #Phave #MarketingAutomation #AI

Be The Buzz & Co (GTM Marketing)
One of the clearest signals that GTM needs to evolve is this - Your best sales conversations rely heavily on context. The founder explaining nuance. Sales reframing value live. Solutions Engineers filling in gaps marketing didn’t cover. That works early on. But as deals get bigger and cycles get longer, that context needs to live in the narrative, content, and the way demand gen shows up before a conversation ever starts. When marketing carries that context, sales accelerate rather than compensate. That’s usually when GTM starts to compound again. #CybersecurityMarketing #GTMAlignment #SalesEnablement #B2BMarketing #RevenueOperations #SaaSGrowth #GoToMarket #PipelinePredictability

The fastest way to lose a year of growth? Hire the right GTM leader at the wrong time. Across investor-backed businesses, one pattern consistently stands out: GTM leaders rarely fail because they lack ability. They fail because they were hired for a stage they were never built for. The good news is that this challenge is solvable, and the impact of getting it right is transformational for value creation. Recently, Renovata and ZEREN brought together three senior experts who sit at the centre of commercial leadership hiring across PE portfolios: 🔹 Lucy Brealy Partner, Renovata 🔹 Alan Fecamp Partner, Renovata 🔹 Harry Lewis Managing Director, ZEREN Together, they unpacked the real foundations of effective GTM leadership hiring for PE-backed organisations. Hiring top 1% GTM talent isn’t luck. It’s pattern recognition. After 500+ sales interviews across SaaS and fintech, one thing is clear: Resumes don’t reveal performance. They only hint at it. High-performers and average performers often look identical on paper. The difference shows up in how they think, how they reflect, and how they map inputs to outcomes. That’s why we use a structured 4-step filter when vetting GTM talent: • Go beyond quota — understand the decision-making mechanics • Evaluate stakeholder navigation, not just deal size • Test portability of success across ecosystems • Stress-test coachability in real time This is where outcome-aligned hiring begins. When you filter for impact rather than tenure: Ramp-up improves. Pipeline quality improves. Team performance compounds. We don’t rely on “vibe checks.” We build Role Canvas clarity and validate Impact Passports before recommending anyone. If you’re building a serious GTM team and want predictable execution — this framework will resonate. Take a look through the slides. #GTMHiring #RevenueLeadership #SaaSHiring #EnterpriseSales #OutcomeDriven #Beyondcc

Most TA teams aren’t struggling because of “low pipeline.” They’re struggling because their strategy, spend, and candidate experience aren’t aligned. In the latest HireWeGo! episode, Ashlie Collins sits down with industry veteran Lance Christensen to break down what’s really going wrong in talent acquisition and what high-performing teams are doing differently. If you care about attracting the right talent(not just more of it), this conversation is a must-watch. Here’s what you’ll take away: • Why applicant-first thinking is still a superpower • The misalignment traps that burn budget • Why ghosting is at an all-time high and how to fix it • Where AI helps… and where it adds noise • Lance’s “magic wand” solution for sourcing in 2026 Catch the full episode here 👇 https://lnkd.in/dxJvY-Tm #HireWeGo #TalentAcquisition #RecruitmentStrategy #FutureOfWork #Hiring #TACommunity #Joveo

No doubt about it. AI has definitely changed recruiting. Faster workflows. Better insights. Bigger influence on hiring decisions. But layering AI on top of a stack of disconnected tools? That just creates more noise. Real progress comes from orchestration. Workflow-driven recruiting on one connected platform where every interaction, every data point, and every decision stays aligned. Less juggling systems. More focus on candidates and decisions that matter. If you’re thinking about where TA tech is headed, this ebook digs into it 👉 https://lnkd.in/eih3AgFQ
