Lalit Chopra reposted thisLalit Chopra reposted thisYesterday, Okta and our fellow founding members launched the Blueprint Alliance a cross-industry coalition advancing an open architecture for securing and governing AI agents at scale. Thank you to the partners and strategic advisors who helped bring this work together. AI agents move across models, data, applications, networks, and infrastructure, and no single company can secure that entire journey alone. This is an industry challenge that requires an industry solution. The Alliance aligned around a shared set of principles: treat every agent as a first-class identity, scope access to the task, ensure delegation is traceable, monitor behavior at runtime, and enable targeted, reversible containment if something goes wrong. These principles evolved and expanded the blueprint for the secure agentic enterprise. It now helps organizations answer four core questions: - Where are my agents? - What can they do? - What are they doing? - How do I respond? This will remain an active commitment. The Alliance will explore deeper interoperability across the stack to help the ecosystem identify risk and respond as one system. This is just the beginning ... Lalit Chopra reposted thisLalit Chopra reposted thisToday, Okta is proud to announce the Blueprint Alliance, a new cross-industry coalition dedicated to advancing a more secure, governable future for AI agents. Together with Amazon Web Services (AWS), CrowdStrike, Databricks, Docker, Inc, GE Appliances, a Haier company, Google Cloud, Lovable, Proofpoint, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Wiz, World Central Kitchen, and Zscaler, we’re helping organizations address a critical challenge: AI agents increasingly operate across identity, data, applications, infrastructure, and security systems—and no single provider can secure that environment alone. The Blueprint Alliance will advance an open, multi-vendor reference architecture designed to help enterprises answer four foundational questions: Where are my agents? What can they do? What are they doing? How do I respond? By bringing together shared signals, reference integrations, and practical guidance, the Blueprint Alliance aims to help organizations deploy and govern AI agents with greater confidence. Lalit Chopra reposted thisLalit Chopra reposted thisPartnering with Google, Okta has expanded its device assurance capabilities to include #Android devices, offering a more comprehensive approach to identity and access management. This integration leverages Google's Endpoint Verification to gather detailed insights into a device's security posture, including factors like OS version, patch level, and encryption status. By establishing a robust understanding of device health, organizations can implement granular access policies, ensuring that only trusted devices can access sensitive resources. This enhanced visibility and control contribute to a stronger overall security framework, mitigating risks associated with compromised or non-compliant devices. The latest integration with Android aims to simplify the process of establishing device trust for organizations managing a diverse mobile fleet. Okta's platform can now seamlessly incorporate the security signals from Android devices alongside existing data from other platforms, providing a unified view of device risk. This allows for consistent policy enforcement across all endpoints, reducing administrative overhead and improving the end-user experience by granting secure access without unnecessary friction. This development underscores the growing importance of device context in modern identity strategies, enabling organizations to adapt their security posture to the evolving threat landscape. Lalit Chopra reposted thisLalit Chopra reposted thisSome exciting news from RSAC Conference. Okta is proud to join Google Cloud Security's plans to cultivate an open ecosystem for AI-driven security operations, alongside Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, and Wiz. Recognizing that the fragmented landscape of security tools often hinders AI's full potential to enhance security practices, this collaboration centers on the Model Context Protocol (MCP). MCP is designed as an open standard to streamline the interaction between AI models and agents with diverse security tools and data sources. By creating standardized communication pathways, this initiative aims to democratize the development of robust, cross-platform AI workflows, making advanced capabilities more broadly accessible to security teams. A critical element of this evolving AI ecosystem is the deep integration of identity security. As AI agents utilize MCP to access data and initiate actions, understanding the identity context, encompassing user roles, permissions, and real-time risk assessments, is essential for operational efficiency and maintaining a strong security posture. Okta is actively exploring methods to expose rich identity insights and intelligence from both the Okta and Auth0 platforms through MCP-based services, allowing Google's generative AI tools to leverage authoritative identity context within their workflows. We look forward to collaborating with Google Cloud, Cloudflare, CrowdStrike, Wiz, and the broader community to build a truly open and secure future for AI in security operations. Lalit Chopra shared thisAfter 11 incredible years helping to build Movable Ink, I wrapped up my journey in February. I took a fantastic pause to spend time with my family and to attempt some physical building with a basement remodel (photos). Now, I'm excited to explore interesting opportunities for my next adventure! I remember sitting around a desk at General Assembly with 5 other Inkers (I was employee 6) talking about this newfangled magical technology that we thought could revolutionize digital marketing. Little did I know that I’d get the opportunity to build functions and teams across customer success, partner sales, business development, and product management & design that change how marketers work. And, that I’d get to do so alongside 600+ people who truly exemplify the values of curiosity, empathy, and grit and with a phenomenal ecosystem of partners across martech. I’m incredibly proud and grateful for the memories, friends, and accomplishments I’ve had over the past 11 years. To my amazing network, I’ll be hitting many of you up for advice and guidance as I’m exploring what’s next. Thank you for your support now and throughout the years! I know these are interesting times, and if there’s anything I can do to help you please ask. More to come. Thanks all! #opentowork #thankyou

Lalit Chopra liked thisLalit Chopra liked thisOkta believes it'll take a village to secure agentic AI in the enterprise. Eric Kelleher said that no one software vendor sees or controls the entire agent journey. Agents bounce across models, infrastructure, data, applications, devices, and networks. This spring, Okta published a "blueprint" outlining how to secure the agentic enterprise. This week, at its #Oktane conference, the company announced that it's transformed that approach into a consortium backed by noted enterprise AI providers: Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, Salesforce, ServiceNow, CrowdStrike, Databricks, Docker, Inc, Zscaler, Proofpoint, Lovable, and Wiz. The group is called...the Blueprint Alliance. "The goal…is to bring clarity to the industry on what the issues are that customers need to consider, and then to bring clarity on how to address those issues," Kelleher explained. Each member organization has committed to building and testing interoperability across many standards, including MCP, OCSF, SSF, and CAEP. Read more about the Blueprint Alliance in The AI Economy (link in comments below). ** Disclosure: I attended Okta’s Oktane conference as the company’s guest, with travel and accommodation expenses covered. Lalit Chopra liked thisLalit Chopra liked thisWe get it, the noise is deafening - every vendor pitching "AI Security" solutions. A few common themes from a couple of dozen 1:1 conversations with the leaders from the Global 2000, journalists and analysts this Oktane, hoping that would help guide and empower you: A) "Who builds shared architecture that doesn't lock me in?" Okta announced the Blueprint Alliance, a cross-industry coalition (AWS, Databricks, Docker, Google Cloud, Okta, Salesforce, ServiceNow, Wiz and others) co-authoring blueprints answering 4 critical questions: 1) Where are my agents? (Visibility) 2) What can they connect to? (Intent & capability) 3) What can they do? (Real-time observability) 4) How do I respond? (Control & remediation) B) "How to build engaging, secure Agentic Commerce solutions?" Auth0 announced Universal Components for AI Agents, Auth for UCP, and Experiment Center enabling brands to confidently convert (capture intent), protect (secure transactions), and personalize (tailor experiences) in the agentic era" C) What Journalists & Analysts Are Watching: AI velocity is rising - governance and ethics are where the real work happens. Identity Security, Model Security, and Data Security form the foundation, not checkbox features. Trump's 'Super Intelligence' framing and essays on pacing the frontier aren't hype—they signal where regulation and governance are heading. Winners would commit to open, interoperable and scalable architectures. This journey matters more than the destination—and anyone claiming to have 'solved' agentic security is selling, not solving. Thrilled to have shared the stage with Harish Peri to brainstorm the foundations of the lean Identity fabric powering the AI security vision with our global partners. Lalit Chopra liked thisLalit Chopra liked thisWhat an unbelievable week at Oktane! 🚀 From energetic keynotes to deep-dive technical sessions, this year's event made one thing crystal clear: the future of identity is evolving fast, and securing AI is at the very center of it. Here are a few major takeaways and highlights from the floor: - Securing AI & Product Innovations: Okta continues to lead the charge by integrating robust security frameworks around AI non-human identities, ensuring enterprise innovation doesn't compromise safety. - The Blueprint Alliance: Industry leaders coming together to define a unified standard for identity security—establishing stronger cross-platform trust than ever before. - Partner Power: Amazing conversations during the Partner Summit on how we can collaborate to deliver seamless, zero-trust security solutions globally. And speaking of securing the future... standing right under the PGA of America sign in my Okta jumpsuit reminded me that when it comes to enterprise identity, you simply can't afford any sub-par security! ⛳️ 😉 (In fact, keeping your identity architecture secure is the only way to stay out of the rough.) #Oktane #Okta #IdentitySecurity #SecuringAI #Cybersecurity #PartnerSummit

Lalit Chopra liked thisLalit Chopra liked this15 billion. That’s roughly how many content decisions the average brand using Movable Ink Da Vinci makes in a year. What I find interesting isn’t just the scale. It’s what that scale tells us about where marketing is headed. For years, CRM teams have been asked to personalize by building more: more segments, more journeys, more rules, more versions of creative. But there’s a limit to how many decisions a human team can—or should—make manually. AI changes that equation. 15 billion decisions isn’t about replacing the marketer. It’s about letting marketers focus on strategy and the strategic decisions where human judgment matters most. It's about letting machines handle the scale humans were never meant to manage. What would you do if the machine made 15B decisions for you? Check out our Hibbett case study in the comments to see what Kayla Brown and her team were able to do!

Lalit Chopra liked thisLalit Chopra liked thisOur partner ecosystem has been an "unfair advantage for 10+ years". That line landed from Jeremy Seltzer at today's Global Sales All Hands following my presentation. Why? Because it's true, and it's earned. I had the opportunity to share the vision for the future of partnerships at Movable Ink. Where we've been. What we're driving today. And where we're headed next. The foundation is intentional. We've invested in strategy, alignment, and people who know how to build relationships and ecosystems at scale. That doesn't happen by accident. It happens when leadership commits to it year after year. But the real edge isn't what we've built. It's how we evolve it. We stay close to our customers, learn where they're going, and shape the ecosystem around their trajectory. Partnerships are never standing still. Neither are we. We're excited for the future ahead!

Lalit Chopra liked thisLalit Chopra liked thisTen years ago, I joined Braze with a dream of what this company could become. I was the first product manager hired outside the founding team, and one of my first challenges was helping build our Email business from almost nothing. At the time, we were not yet the multichannel platform we are today. There was no Channels Division, and we were not being evaluated alongside the major enterprise marketing platforms in Gartner’s hub research. But there was a North Star: build a fundamentally better way for brands to engage their customers. This week, Braze was named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Multichannel Marketing Hubs for the fourth consecutive year, positioned highest in Ability to Execute and furthest in Completeness of Vision. The timing could not be more meaningful as I recently celebrated my 10-year anniversary at Braze last week. Over the past decade, I have had the privilege of helping build our Email and SMS businesses and eventually taking on leadership of our Channels Division across email, mobile, web, messaging, and emerging channels. The first era of customer engagement was largely about adding channels. The next will be about making those channels work as one system, connecting data, creative, orchestration, and intelligence to help brands create better customer experiences without adding more complexity for marketers. AI is opening an entirely new chapter in that evolution, changing both how marketers work and what they should expect from their technology. When I look at where we started and where we are today, I am incredibly proud. I am proud of the products we have built and the role I have had the opportunity to play in that journey. More importantly, I am proud of the people, customers, and teams who made this evolution possible. Ten years later, the North Star is still the same. We have just come a very long way toward realizing it. And I could not be more excited about what we build next. 🚀 Read the full announcement → https://lnkd.in/gETVEQ22 #Braze #CustomerEngagement #ProductLeadershipBraze named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Multichannel Marketing Hubs | BrazeBraze named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner® Magic Quadrant™ for Multichannel Marketing Hubs | Braze

The VC herd is shifting course from once-safe, now-strained SaaS to Aerospace & Defense, an alluring prospect that plays by different rules. SaaS isn’t the predictable play it once was. AI is rewriting the playbook: erasing moats and shifting buyer needs, eroding the predictability that made SaaS so attractive. The secret SaaS sauce wasn’t magic, just choreography: product, fundraising, and traction timelines that neatly lined up. Easy to take for granted. The SaaS timelines are predictably in sync. → Product development moves quickly, and you have control. No physics, no hardware. → Fundraising is a well-oiled machine. Do X, and you got Y. Deep pools of investors who know the playbook. → Commercial traction is straightforward. For years, if you understood what your customer needed and built it, they bought. A&D is different. The timelines don’t cooperate. → Product is harder. In SaaS, QA is a bug report. In A&D, QA means pummeling hardware in vacuum chambers, at hypersonic speeds, on vibration tables, at extreme temperatures. → Fundraising is less predictable. Fewer seasoned investors, shifting milestones, heavy upfront capex and R&D, dependence on grants. → Commercial traction is murky: buyer cycles are political, slow, and opaque. SBIRs and STRATFIs help, but often create false positives. This doesn’t make A&D less attractive. But, it does make it different. The excitement is real: DIU’s FY 2024 appropriation was nearly $1B, and since 2016, it has awarded $5.5B in contract ceilings to commercial companies, many of them startups. The Big Beautiful Bill added $156B to DoD’s $831B FY 2025 budget, bringing total defense resources close to $1T. In A&D, timelines rarely align. Investors need a playbook that assumes gaps, delays, and unpredictable orders. Success will go to those who underwrite to that reality.

Funding: WisdomAI just raised $50M. The message behind it is bigger than the round. Not saying investors always get it right, but I see takeaways for data/AI leaders: 1. Analytics teams to extend from dashboarding to “decision readiness.” The BI/analytics category is moving toward real-time, context-aware decision support and increasingly, automation. Data leaders: Shift KPIs from “time-to-insight” to time-to-decision and evaluate tools on their ability to support agents with semantic modeling, workflows, and closed-loop learning. 2. BI isn’t going away-it's evolving. Dashboards aren't dying. BI/analytics insights are still selling, but insights give way to fast growth in decision loop solutions built on context that can be verified. Data leaders: As analytics move into governance, expect your BI/ Semantics / catalog ecosystems to converge. Plan your architecture accordingly. 3. Context is the make-or-break factor for AI. WisdomAI's Enterprise Context Layer is a key part of how they provide the queries to answer prompted questions. Data/AI leaders: invest in the semantic layer, unify metadata and policy-as-code to govern reasoning. This is where the next competitive gap will open. WisdomAI grew on the bet that context + trust will power the next generation of AI-driven action. The bigger story? We’re moving from AI that answers → to AI that actually understands and acts—safely. That’s why this raise matters. California and Colorado will start taxing SaaS on Jan 1, 2027. That part is already law. They won't be the last. Most founders I talk to have this filed under "things to deal with in 2027". But it's a Q4 2026 problem. And you have about three months. Colorado signed HB 26-1223 on June 4. It adds computer software to the definition of taxable tangible personal property and repeals the exemption that covered downloaded and remotely accessed software. California signed SB 122 on June 29. Sales and use tax will apply to prewritten software, including SaaS, regardless of how it's delivered or accessed. Both take effect January 1, 2027. To be clear, this isn't new. About two dozen states already tax SaaS in some form, and New York and Texas have for years. What changed is that California was one of the biggest holdouts left. One detail in the Colorado bill is worth sitting with. It keeps an exemption for software sold under a negotiated license agreement, but specifically excludes click-through and browse-wrap agreements. So if your customers sign up by clicking a box on your pricing page, you don't get the carve-out. Why will more states follow? The numbers. California projects around $900 million a year to its general fund and another $1.1 billion to local jurisdictions. Colorado's combined rate lands near 10% in cities like Denver. States are staring at budget gaps and at a tax code written for an economy that moved to the cloud fifteen years ago. Founders don't act on things that aren't urgent yet. I get it. Nobody ever hit a growth target by getting their sales tax registrations in order. But the pattern is always the same. Someone tells me they thought they had more time. Or that volumes came faster than anyone modeled and suddenly they were bleeding on a line item they never budgeted for. Nobody discovers this early. They discover it when the state notice arrives. So what does ready actually look like? • You know where you have nexus, economic and physical, and you track it as you grow • You're registered in the states where it matters • Filing and remittance run in the background without anyone on your team thinking about them Plenty of teams think they can flip on tax calculation and call it handled. That's the trap. Calculation is the visible part of sales tax, not the whole of it. Registration, filing, and remittance are the invisible parts, and they don't come with a switch. They can take months to stand up. The rules aren't done moving either — they never are. California's CDTFA is still writing the regulations that decide how this actually applies to your product, three months out. Waiting until that's settled means starting late. You'll be dealing with this in 2027. Set it up in 2026, while it's still cheap and boring. That's the part we handle at TaxCloud, so it isn't sitting on someone's plate in December.
