Susan brings more than 30 years of finance and business strategy experience to Actabl as we help hotel leaders use trusted data and artificial intelligence to improve financial performance. “Based in Silicon Valley, I have a front-row seat to how quickly AI is reshaping business,” she said. “I looked at a range of companies, and Actabl stood out as one positioned to win with AI because its products already underpin financial decisions and day-to-day operations for hotel companies. I know as a CFO what it means to need confidence in your numbers and access to them the moment a question comes up. Hotel company leaders are facing real margin pressure, and the opportunity to help them make better decisions is what brought me here.” “We are thrilled Susan chose to join Actabl,” said our CEO, Steven Moore. “She is an exceptional finance leader and operator who immediately understood both the strength of the company and the opportunity ahead. She moves with pace, shares our values, and is a wonderful fit for our culture. Her perspective will be invaluable as we build Actabl’s next chapter.” Welcome, Susan!

Simon Keast reacted on thisMajor week of AI releases at Velora - again, focused on infusing AI where the work already takes place, where are our customers are already familiar First, a new automation feature in our CRM (Keela) - you can now build your automated donor journey with AI prompts and Mission Assistant - our AI foundation for nonprofit operations - turns your idea into an outreach workflow (no more clicking / dropdowns / filtering). We're proud to be the only prompt-to-workflow builder in the nonprofit sector! Second, at Raisely (our fundraising tool), you can now use Mission Assistant to get benchmarking data to understand fundraising performance, trained on millions of data points across the platform. See how your results compare with similar, anonymized campaigns! Exciting week at Velora! https://lnkd.in/gegffcHESimon Keast reacted on thisOur Automation feature just got a major upgrade! 🚀 Now in Keela, you can build an automated donor journey with a simple AI prompt. Describe the outcome you want, and Automation 2.0 uses Mission Assistant—our AI layer—to turn your idea into an outreach workflow. AI makes the work easier, but you're in control with the human touch that makes your donor relationships meaningful 💜 Learn more ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gxeRkZ8F

Simon Keast reacted on thisSimon Keast reacted on thisMission Assistant is officially out, and available for all - Mission Assistant is aptly named: it doesn't replace, but amplifies, the humans behind the grimy, challenging operations work at a nonprofit For people who spend way too much time in admin, and not enough time in mission, this is our solution for you. Like skills in Cursor or Claude, Mission Assistant has "workflows" that take you through customized, nonprofit specific workflows, like filing a form 990, or building your board deck Join the Velora AI Innovation Program as an Early Adopter and experience early stages of AI intelligence built for charitable organizations and nonprofits. https://lnkd.in/guJNRnTG

Sofia Vegarra worked at Stride Health, Uber, and Keep Company, with exposure to investing through Bessemer Venture Partners and Georgetown Angel Investor Network. She joined the SomosVC Fellowship in Fall 2023 while considering her next move. “I was looking for my next role at the time and hearing from the speakers and the other fellows really helped me figure out what I wanted to do next.” Her path has since spanned sourcing, talent, and portfolio management —different ways to put an operator’s experience to work in venture. Now part of the TEDCO team, she works as a Senior Investment Team Portfolio Manager. SomosVC applications are open for aspiring investors who want to learn how venture works, hear directly from people hiring, and discover where their own experience fits. Simon Keast reacted on thisSimon Keast reacted on thisAnother exciting day at Velora. This time our fundraising tool (Keela) is getting a major, AI-powered, upgrade. That's right, you read that correctly: we re-imagined Keela's automation tool to be agentic and natural language-driven Background - Keela offers a custom workflow automation tool built for nonprofits. It uses "if-this-then-that" conditional logic to trigger automated emails, update donor databases, manage event and volunteer sign-ups, and assign internal staff tasks—saving time on manual administration. Our new automation enables an experience where you no longer need to click around a UI to build your segments, create your campaigns, you now have the ability to use Mission Assistant (our agent) to build workflows much faster and much more tailored. What's more, the new automation boasts higher performance, faster cycle times and is an all-around more delightful experience A powerful extension of our vision of how to use AI to help nonprofits: infuse it where the work already takes place. Thousands of customers were already building automations. We're just making it happen faster and easier. We've been intending to re-imagine our automation tool for a while and a team led by Marco Santos, Nina O and Natalie F. took what would have been a six-month project and got it done in essentially six weeks end-to-end, a testament to what 10x teams can do, unleashed by AI!

The Current State of the US Staffing & Recruiting Industry The mid-year numbers are in, and the US staffing landscape is delivering a stark message to executive leadership: Generalist headcount is flat, but the premium on "Performance Architecture" has never been higher. As we close out the week ending July 12, 2026, the macro data paints a clear picture. According to Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA), the number of US staffing firms crossing the $100M revenue threshold dropped down to 214 this year. We are seeing a market that has consolidated after a three-year contraction, but temp revenue is finally projected to edge back into positive growth territory (+1%). But here is what the top-line numbers won't tell you: The rules of engagement have permanently changed. Clients aren’t buying generalized "bodies to fill seats" anymore. They are buying engineered outcomes. Here are the three dominant market forces driving the trenches right now: 1. The "Job Hugging" Backlash Voluntary turnover remains low. Employees—even the disengaged ones, are clinging to their current roles out of tech-disruption anxiety, a phenomenon the American Staffing Association (ASA) calls "job hugging." Because internal attrition is artificially frozen, companies have blind spots in their middle management. When a critical exit does happen, it completely shatters un-systematized workflows. 2. The Skills-First Revolution Over Credentials The era of rigid degree requirements is collapsing. Forward-thinking enterprise clients are abandoning outdated resume filters to focus strictly on real-world execution, cognitive capability, and adaptability. If your recruitment strategy is still filtering for background boxes instead of assessing process-driven capabilities, you are starving your own talent pipeline. 3. AI Noise vs. Systemic Impact Every agency is screaming about AI automation. But enterprise buyers are experiencing serious tech fatigue. They don't want automated platforms that simply scale bad hiring behaviors faster. They want strategic domestic partners who can help them design, manage, and validate leaner, higher-performing teams closer to home. The Bottom Line: The staffing industry isn't in a slump; it is in an evolutionary filter. Generalist agencies operating on outdated transaction models are losing market share to specialized firms that understand how to align human talent with rigorous operational standards. At Talent Quest Consulting, we don't look at recruitment as a transaction. We look at it as an architectural build. If you are a business leader navigating this talent landscape, stop trying to solve 2026 organizational friction with a 2021 hiring playbook. Build a system that attracts elite execution. Fix the system. Raise The Standard. #StaffingIndustry #RecruitingTrends #ExecutiveLeadership #PerformanceArchitecture #HumanHiring #TalentQuestConsulting #TheStandard #IndianaBusiness #WorkforceSolutions

My approach is simple: start with the outcome, not the title. Most companies are still staffing Technology and AI the way they staffed the last cycle: one role, one function, one job description. McKinsey’s September 9 operating-model research suggests that organizations getting further with AI organize work around end-to-end business outcomes, use skills-based talent models, and redeploy capabilities as priorities change. If the objective is to automate member onboarding, improve forecast accuracy, or reduce service-desk resolution time, map the entire capability set: process ownership, AI and data engineering, cloud platforms, security, data governance, change management, and PMO. Then determine which skills are already on the team and where specialized talent is missing. The wrong first question is, “Which AI role should we hire?” The better question is, “Which business result must this team own, and what capabilities are missing?” AI will continue to change. A skills-based staffing model gives CIOs room to move without redrawing the org chart every quarter. #ITStaffing #ArtificialIntelligence #TechnologyLeadership #PMO #WorkforcePlanning

With so much talk about AI and recruiting it is exciting to see the conversation now evolving beyond simply task automation and moving towards orchestration! Think about this... Automation: A bot sends an email to a candidate. (The recruiter still has to make sure the hiring manager is free, the room is booked, and the budget is approved). Orchestration: The AI realizes a top candidate just applied, sees the hiring manager’s calendar is full, suggests a move to a different interviewer who is free, and checks with Finance to make sure the salary ask is still within range—all in seconds, without being asked. And I know some people will say "but Ray, this is already happening so why highlight it" ... If you are in an organization where this is already happening, you are the exception and not the norm!
