Sunil Grover reposted thisCongratulations team AKOOL to being the part of Singapore's Soverign AI offering for all Singaporeans! "Our team tested many tools to put this selection together. We chose tools we enjoy using and believe can help people bring their own ideas to life."Sunil Grover reposted thisWe’ve officially launched Singtel 𝗔𝗜 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀, giving eligible Singaporeans complimentary access to a suite of premium AI tools. The idea is simple: give people room to explore before asking them to choose. When you’re still figuring out which tools work for you, those subscriptions add up. Co-created together with the Skills & Workforce Development Agency (SWDA) and our AI partners, we’re making that exploration easier. Eligible Singapore Citizens aged 18 and above who attend selected SWDA-supported AI courses can choose Singtel AI Pass for complimentary access to around S$550 worth of premium AI tools: 🔹 Manus AI: A general AI agent that gets work done, delivering research, slides, websites, images, videos, charts, and more. 🔹 Hailuo AI: Create cinematic videos from text or images with lifelike motion in seconds. 🔹 Otter.ai: AI meeting assistant that captures notes, summaries, and action items. 🔹 MiniMax Agent: Remembers your habits, builds agent teams, automates the repetitive work. 🔹 MiniMax Audio: Create lifelike audio and music. 🔹 AKOOL: A premium generative AI video and image suite. Explore the full suite for three months, then choose one tool to continue using for another three months. Our team tested many tools to put this selection together. We chose tools we enjoy using and believe can help people bring their own ideas to life. I believe more people should have the chance to discover what AI can help them do. That takes access, time to experiment and people to learn alongside. AI Pass subscribers will also be invited to our AI community events, where builders and practitioners can share what they’re trying, exchange ideas and learn from one another. Bringing this programme to life took a huge collective effort. Sunil Grover shared thisA powerful combination for DAXA’s continued growth and success. Claudionor and Axelle's perspectives will be invaluable as DAXA defines the data control layer for agentic AI. Congratulations to the entire team! 🚀Sunil Grover shared thisSome days remind you exactly why you started. Today is one of them. Thrilled to welcome Claudionor Coelho Jr and Axelle Girardot to DAXA's Advisory Board. Claudionor has led AI at the biggest names in cybersecurity, Zscaleraler and Palo Alto Networks, and built ML at Google before that. Axelle is a strategy powerhouse who has scaled category-defining businesses across F5, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, and Intel, through the exact market shifts we're navigating now. What struck me most was something Claudionor said: "Zero Trust and AI Firewalls can't protect Enterprise AI without reasoning over data. DAXA saw that very early on." That's the bet. As agents move from pilots to production, controlling access is no longer enough. What matters is what an agent does with your data, and whether that action should be allowed. Reasoning over data is the hard part. It's the part we went after. Grateful to have Axelle and Claudionor alongside us as we build the data control layer for agentic and sovereign AI. Sunil Grover reposted thisSunil Grover reposted thisMany video creators have arrived at Akool, producing complete, story-driven videos with our video generation stack. Casting, locations, and reshoots have always capped how many stories a creator could tell. Akool's agentic canvas removes that ceiling: describe the story, and it handles consistent characters, camera direction, dialogue, and edits. Script to finished video in one workspace. When production costs drop, creativity becomes the only limit. That's the world we set out to build.

Looking to boost attendance and appeal to a younger audience base, and facing intensified competition for leisure time, the Museums’ marketing team explored animating a canonical artwork using AI-generated avatars as part of a digital campaign. While the approach promised novelty and attention, it raised internal concerns about brand authenticity, interpretive authority, donor relations, and reputational risk—particularly given broader cultural anxieties surrounding AI and the museums’ association with the Harvard brand. Harvard Business School Associate Professor Julian De Freitas and Harvard Art Museums Director of Marketing John Connolly join host Brian Kenny to discuss the case, Harvard Art Museums: When Art Meets Artificial Intelligence. They explore tensions between innovation and brand stewardship in cultural marketing, organizational barriers to new technology adoption, and the strategic use of emerging technologies in brand management. Sunil Grover shared thisThis CNBC video is a great watch for Finance aficionados! Nvidia and Jensen's genius isn’t just building and selling great silicon. They’ve built the digital toll bridge for the AI economy—and Wall Street is geared up to organizing $500B of private credit into funding the toll roads. 🌉 When BlackRock's Larry Fink compared this to the 1970s birth of Mortgage-Backed Securities (MBS) (@8:18), the irony isn't lost on those who witnessed the 2008 financial meltdown. 🏠 GPUs aren't real estate, and there will be ups and downs. While Wall Street finances heavy-metal CapEx at the infrastructure layer, I believe the real opportunity for assymetric returns in venture sits directly on top of it. 🕵 Our focus is on the capital-efficient application layer. This is where heavy CapEx turns into high-margin leverage, raw compute becomes systems of outcomes, and true founder grit—pure jugaad—creates asymmetric returns. Trillion-dollar tracks are being laid down. The outsized value will belong to the founders building the engines running on them. 🚂 The opportunity is too big and moving too fast to watch from the peanut gallery. Sunil Grover shared thisIs Anthropic’s AI safety stance shifting from principled leadership to competitive protectionism? 💬 For a long time, the narrative around AI frontier labs was clear: Anthropic was the principled rebel. Dario Amodei built a reputation on uncompromising AI safety and a willingness to stand up to major institutions—even when it came at a commercial cost. That kind of independence earns trust, especially among developers and partners. However, their latest stance on open-weight AI raises a critical question. While Anthropic’s security concerns regarding open-weight models may be grounded in real risk, calling for government regulation on a competing architecture—one that fundamentally threatens open weights business models—feels like a shift in strategy. It creates a difficult contradiction to ignore: 🤔 Resisting government overreach when it challenges core safety principles. 💲 Invoking government power when regulation happens to shield a closed-source economic model from open-weights competition. When principled leadership begins to look selective, trust erodes fast. For developers, partners, and the broader tech community, watching "principled rebellion" blur into "market protectionism" might be more concerning than the open weights debate itself. What’s your take? Is Anthropic raising valid, necessary safety warnings about open-weight models, or is this a classic case of using regulation to build a moat? I’d love to hear your thoughts below. ⬇️ Related posts: https://lnkd.in/gpiR2Jrk #AISafety #ArtificialIntelligence #TechPolicy #OpenSource #Anthropic #OpenAI #TechLeadership Tanya Dua, Amar, Vik

Sunil Grover liked thisSunil Grover liked thisAI (SI) is often framed as a compute race. In practice, the constraint is increasingly everything around the compute: the server platforms GPUs & CPUs run on, power, cooling, permitting, transmission, build out and deployment. That was the thread running through a great CVC Week roundtable at Arup on energy and compute infrastructure for AI. Huge thanks to Soroush J., Jing (Jane) Ge, Connie Koh for creating the room and letting me crash it. One of the CVCs said it was great to see different viewpoints in the room. He was in the Valley building new relationships and deal flow. So was I ;) What made our discussion real was how many parts of the stack were represented. Servers. Energy. Chips. Cooling. Materials. Mobility. Logistics. Design and build. Different vantage points and many opportunities to create value. The technology itself is often not the constraint. Bank ability, interoperability, permitting, workforce, transmission, community pushback can stop projects long before the technology does. Demand is moving faster than infrastructure. Companies are securing capacity first and figuring out optimization later. One point I pushed is that Efficiency alone may not be the company. It may be a wedge. My takeaway is that the bigger opportunities are in orchestrating across compute, power, cooling…. then learning from operating data those systems generate and optimizing. That is where you start moving from a point solution to something much more defensible. Our discussion got better because people came at the problem from very different operating realities. Susanna Sabbagh pushed on what really blocks adoption beyond capital and technology. Alison Colwell, Okta brought sustainability reality into our conversation. Rene D., SK hynix added compute efficiency and memory management perspective. Dong-Su KimDong-Su Kim, LG Electronics gave a unique view into how deeply LG already operates across the data center stack. Brandon Proetto, Holman brought automotive, fleet and mobility lens. That mix made the conversation less about "AI infrastructure" and more about how the system actually gets engineered, built, deployed and run. Big shoutout to Soroush, Jin, Rose ChenRose Chen WescoWesco. Getting that many different perspectives into one room is easy. Turning them into a useful conversation is hard…. orchestration at work ;) And now on to Counter VII with Counterpart Ventures meeting CVCs from across the world. Best conversations are still ahead. If you're a founder building for AI infrastructure… we will love to hear from you here at G2C Ventures. Amar Sunil Sameer

Sunil Grover liked thisSunil Grover liked thisFounders almost never get to see what happens inside the room when VCs make the call. At G2C Ventures, we spend a lot of time debating the same questions founders rarely get to hear: - Is this a big enough market? - Why this founder? - What creates conviction? - What makes us walk away? On October 8, we’re taking that Investment Committee discussion to the stage. :) G2C Ventures presents Fund or Fold | SF — TECH WEEK by a16z - 5 real deals. - No pitch decks. You vote first. Then Gautam Krishnamurthi of GreatPoint Ventures and I will ask the questions that matter most in an Investment Committee and make the call: Fund or Fold. Then we reveal what we actually funded — or folded. Amelia Salter from the (University of Chicago) will moderate and keep us honest. Sunil Grover, my partner at G2C Ventures, will close with the founder takeaways: what investors heard, what moved conviction, what created concern, and what founders can use in their next fundraise. At G2C, we invest in ambitious founders building the next generation of technology companies. We thought the best way to show founders how we think was to open up the IC process itself. October 8 | 4–7 PM | Third Coast Foundry, San Francisco The room is capped and filling up. RSVP link in the comments.

As AI workloads eat up global computing supply, DRAM prices are surging like never before—creating major challenges for teams trying to plan out their data center spend. One of my portfolio companies, Mext, is addressing the largest cost component in the datacenter: server memory (DRAM). From being on the board of Redis for the last twelve years, I’ve learned a lot about the various aspects of this problem and approaches to solving them. Mext found a breakthrough, using new AI techniques, for dramatically reducing the amount of server-DRAM required to run applications, all while maintaining performance. It intelligently manages the server’s memory, keeping hot pages (i.e., those in use by applications) in fast DRAM and offloading cold pages (i.e., those less used) to a much less expensive memory tier (e.g., NVMe Flash). Key to the approach is ensuring cold memory pages that are about to be accessed by an application are back in DRAM before the application needs them or notices that they were gone. This is done without modifications to the application or the OS – so it can run in the cloud or on-premise. Mext thus allows applications to either run using less DRAM or keep their DRAM footprint but do more with it. They're hosting a webinar along with Fred Weber (former CTO of AMD) on Jan 22nd at 10am pacific time. You can register here: https://lnkd.in/gXe9GCeE

This article, co-authored by Vardaan Ahluwalia and me lays out India's significant new Research Development and Innovation Fund initiative in the context of other successful interventions: when governments and the private sector work together, they can make a transformative difference to deep technology entrepreneurship. Equally, initiatives to help manage financial risk should be followed by structural reforms in areas ranging from intellectual property regulation, ease of clearances for start-ups, tax rationalization in capital gains and options that helps start-ups attract talent, and a visa regime that attracts leading global researchers. https://lnkd.in/gk92YSZa

Investment thesis: GCL Tech is a leading Poly producer sitting at the lowest end of the industry cost curve and has managed to keep inventory at a low level at 3-7 days vs. industry average at over 6mths, thanks to its continued cost reduction and quality improvement efforts in its differentiated FBR Granular Poly tech. We are Buy rated on GCL Tech as we believe the market is overlooking its LT volume upside and cost reduction potential. We expect the accelerating downstream adoption of Granular Poly to help GCL to meaningfully improve its volume and profitability outlook despite a severely oversupplied industry backdrop.
