William Golden shared thisFor most of my career, innovation in healthcare was the tortoise. We saw minor incremental changes because to beat your competition, you just had to be slightly better. Do that every year for ten years and you could look back and say you really changed the business. And everyone says the tortoise usually wins-but not anymore. By the time the tortoise gets to the first mile, the hare has already changed the whole business. If you are a health plan and you get this wrong while someone else gets it right, it can take three to five years to catch up. In healthcare , a client you lose to better experiences and better outcomes stays lost for ten years. You might not be around to win them back. I shared this perspective in detail on Anterior’s Beyond Faster Horses campaign-a collection of films and white papers about the right way to use AI in health plans www.anterior.com/beyond

William Golden shared thisHealthcare is moving fast and Anterior is making it work better, this is howWilliam Golden shared thisToday we're launching Beyond Faster Horses - a project we've been working on over over the summer. As we wrote in the letter (linked in comments) - there's value in making paperwork faster using AI. But we'd be disappointed if, five years from now, that was clinical AI's great achievement. We can ask more of this technology. See our vision for health plans: anterior.com/beyond Thank you to our customers and partners who shaped the perspective: William Golden - Former CEO E&I, UnitedHealthcare David Shulkin, MD - Former U.S. Secretary of Veterans Affairs Craig Samitt, MD - Former President & CEO, BCBS Minnesota Aman Bhasin - SVP & CIO, Capital Blue Cross Rob Duffy - Former CTO, HealthEdge Dr. Grant Tarbox, DO - Former Senior Medical Director, Aetna Vanessa Colella - President & CEO, Stellarus Peter Long - Former CSO, Blue Shield California Shawn Griffin, MD - President & CEO, URAC Gautam M Shah, - Former CPO, Carelon George Gjermano - CSO & CPO, WNS-HealthHelp Jennifer Mueller, RN - VP Clinical Affairs, Anterior Cassie P., RN - Director of Clinical Solutions, Anterior Saul Howard - VP Engineering, Anterior Ali Khan - Chief Business Officer, Anterior

William Golden shared thisIncredibly excited to be a part of the future success of Anterior, a company that is truly impacting healthcare organizations by deploying AI solutions that transform clinical and financial performanceWilliam Golden shared thisToday we're humbled to share that Anterior has brought total funding to $64M with an additional $40M round. We raised based on traction - now supporting organizations covering 50M lives. So far, our impact has been felt by: - The tens of thousands of patients now getting care approved in ~155s (instead of weeks) with 99.24% accuracy.. (we’re on track for millions of patients this year!) - Providers too… with our health plan partners achieving 3X higher provider NPS scores - and finally Health Plans… driving millions in operational and medical cost savings for our partners annually This capital lets us go further on what we set out to do - make healthcare better for everyone through AI that health plans can actually trust. Not only that - we’re also excited to welcome Secretary David Shulkin (fmr. VA Secretary), Peter Long (fmr. CSO, Blue Shield of CA), and William Golden (fmr. CEO Employer & Individual, UHC) as advisors… with more to come soon. We're grateful to Sequoia Capital and New Enterprise Associates (NEA) for continuing to believe in us, and glad to welcome FPV Ventures and Kinnevik as new investors. Back to building! 🚀

William Golden shared thisGood news, I am available for golf!!!!William Golden shared thisAfter 25 years, I have retired from UHC as of last Friday, 4/21/23. I am extremely thankful for all of the years, colleagues, friends and professional experiences that UHC has provided for me. I will be forever grateful. I now plan to take some much needed time off to spend with my family and friends as I think about new opportunities in the future. Again, thank you UHC for many great years. I wish everyone well and please stay in touch.

William Golden liked thisWilliam Golden liked thisIt was a privilege to attend the UnitedHealthcare FMO Growth Summit—and even more meaningful to have Zander there with me. The summit provided great insight into the work UHC is doing to build a sustainable future in the Medicare market. I appreciated hearing how they are focused on offering plans that balance long-term stability with affordability, strong benefits, and, most importantly, better health outcomes for members. A great event, valuable conversations, and a special opportunity to share the experience with Zander as he continues to learn more about our industry and the work we do at Integrity Health Advisors. #iha #uhc

William Golden liked thisI won’t gatekeep! 💜 I’ve asked before what everyone’s best conference swag is. This weekend I found mine. I attended a large back to school event with over a thousand kids. After a chat with Claude, I decided to buy croc charms in bulk: Cheap ✅ Kid friendly ✅ Easy to carry ✅ What I hadn’t planned for: - Everyone was excited to pick out their favorite- kids and adults! 🌟 - While kids were debating between a soccer ball and a mermaid tail, I had a captive audience to share about Here Now Health with families👏👏 The tables around me all decided they were getting them for their next event 😄 So there it is- my latest conference secret. 🎉💜

William Golden liked thisWilliam Golden liked thisUnitedHealth Group Federal, Public and Labor organization is dedicated to serving benefits to government, state, local and union employees in the USA. Unlike other insurers who have chosen to consolidate this population with others and reduce staff. We have invested more to maintain a unique and dedicated organization. UnitedHealthcare understands the needs of teachers, first responders, nurses, city employees, longshoreman, pipe fitters and many other trades. These individuals serve our communities and power America. I was honored to discuss the value of our Federal Public and Labor program with Boomer Esiason Foundation Boomer Esiason who understands quite a bit about giving back and the Healthcare space. Stay tuned for the full interview in September!
