We’re excited to announce the appointment of Mike Boffa as Global General Counsel for Mars Petcare. In this role, Mike will lead the legal strategy and operations for our $30B+ Petcare business, reporting to Marc Carena, Global President of Mars Petcare and will join the Petcare Leadership Team. Mike brings deep experience across Mars, having held senior legal leadership roles across multiple businesses and geographies, including General Counsel for Royal Canin and Pet Nutrition. As Global General Counsel, Mike will lead the Petcare Legal organization across our divisions and priority legal capabilities, partnering closely with the Mars team to enable sustainable growth and strong governance. This Mars Global Adoption Weekend, our new global research of 26,000 people revealed key opportunities to better support pet owners throughout the adoption journey: 😺 Before adopting: Uncertainty including unknown medical history (33%), behaviour (27%) and compatibility (25%) are among the biggest concerns holding people back from pet adoption. 🐾 Once a pet comes home: 47% say advice from veterinarians or nutrition experts would be valuable in helping manage their pet’s nutrition. 🐕 But it also shared some of the biggest rewards: Seeing an adopted pet become relaxed and comfortable at home (43%) and feel part of the family (41%) are among the most fulfilling parts of pet adoption. #ClearingThePath is about supporting pet owners throughout that journey, building confidence and celebrating the incredible bond between pets and their people.
