History[]

Pameka writing the tome.
When Pameka received an unusual request to record an entire book, she hired Warrior of Light, a talented craftsman, to make the tome's cover. With the preparations ready, they both went to Xbalyav Ty'e to meet the client, Zemoweni. He explained that he was fascinated by the stories told by the restaurant's patrons and wanted to put them down in text. Returning to the workshop, Pameka transcribed the stories Zemoweni had told, and Warrior of Light made the cover of the tome.[1]
Zemoweni made several visits to Pameka's workshop, each time telling different stories that he had heard. Pameka wrote tomes about a folk tale about the arrival of the Hanuhanu in Tural,[2] the story of a young Pelupelu named Cibli and his discovery of mate tea leaves,[3] and the story of Movalpolos, the submerged city of the Moblins in times past, as well as the origin of the Moblins' respect for pottery.[4]
After writing several stories, Pameka became determined to learn the history of her ancestors. Pameka visited her parents' house where she discovered a stone slab that may have belonged to her great-grandfather, an attendant at the Dawnservant. Realizing that the plaque could be a piece of stonework from Yok Huy, Pameka and the Warrior of Light travelled to the Worlar's Echo. With the help of the inhabitants of Yok Huy, Pameka learned that eighty years ago, her great-grandfather lived among the giants and sought the wisdom of the stonemasons in his quest to establish a new alphabet.

When Pameka met a mason from that time, he told Pameka that her great-grandfather wandered around Tural under the orders of the Dawnservant. Although her great-grandfather initially hoped to establish a new alphabet to accompany the Turali language, he eventually abandoned his efforts as he gained a fuller understanding of Tural's myriad languages and cultures. Pameka was enchanted by the story and began to formulate a new plan to keep her ancestor's legacy alive. Pameka decided to document her great-grandfather's life story and wrote a book. Satisfied with the journey, Pameka reflected on her short trip to Urqopacha and looked forward to sharing her findings with Zemoweni on his next visit.[5]
When Zemoweni paid another visit to the workshop, Pameka told him about her trip and gave Zemoweni the book she wrote to read. On this visit Zemoweni told the story of a young Doppro who, against all odds, tamed a winged beast and flew off into the sunny skies. After the book was finished, Zemoweni expressed concern that his people didn't have a single written record due to oral tradition, and feared that their entire culture would be lost over time.[6]
Pameka was worried about Zemoweni and suggested they visit his workplace. At Xbalyav Ty'e, Zemoweni admitted his intention to commission a book of short stories about his homeland. His dilemma, however, stemmed from the fact that a written work may not adequately represent a Tonawawta village that adhered to an oral tradition. Recalling the power of illustration, Pameka proposed that the next book should be one that incorporated different media to fully tell the story it contained. With Xak Tural's Zemoweni materials in hand, Pameka and Warrior of Light created a binding worthy of the stories of the people of Zemoweni. Once finished, Zemoweni invited the two to join him in the next storytelling session at Xbalyav Ty'e. At Xbalyav Ty'e, Zemoweni drew the attention of the crowd and began to read the book about his people. The customers welcomed the story with applause.[7]
Pameka reflected on the time she spent with the Warrior of Light and Zemoweni, and decided to improve her clerical skills and strive to transfer the full weight of her clients' words in the best possible way.[7] With Zemoweni's commissions completed, Pameka thought she should take a short period of time to travel outside Tuliyollal, and learn about the countless stories. Pameka showed interest in traveling to other continents, and was keen to visit Sharlayan.[8]
