Last week's winning screenshot one

To submit a screenshot, simply post it as an answer to this question, but please take note of the following:

  • One screenshot per post, and one post per person, please!
  • Limited picture modifications are allowed, such as cropping, simple filters, and blurring of identifying info such as names, but not adding other images or text.
  • To ensure a fair playing field, please post screenshots you've taken yourself rather than ones you found online.
  • Stack Exchange’s Code of Conduct still applies - so if it would be unacceptable to post normally, it’s unacceptable here.

Also, try to avoid pictures that include spoilers. We want everyone to be able to enjoy this contest, so the less spoilers the better.

How long will the contest run?

We will accept submissions for a week, until the end of March 30, 2026, then have a second week-long period where only voting will be accepted. This is to give every submission, even those posted at the end of the first week, a chance to be voted on by everyone.

After the end of the second week, at the end of the day on April 6, 2026, we will count upvotes only to determine the winning screenshot, which will be featured for a week on the main site's photo widget.

This week's theme: Cameo

Post your video game screen archery of any appearance of a well-known person/character/sprite from another video game (or universe).

As a reminder, we're always accepting suggestions for themed weeks, and have compiled that suggestion process into a question of its own. Additionally, there is the hall of fame you can check out that contains all the previous contest winners.

The SSV Normandy SR1, from the series, a reward (presented in-game as an anomalous appearance) for successfully completing the Beachhead expedition, as can be seen (and utilized) in :

screenshot showing the Normandy in space, with a fleet, two planets, and a Pirate Dreadnought partially visible

Seeing it warp into the atmosphere of the last planet visited during the expedition was quite spectacular.

I have no idea who this guy is, but he looks familiar. Probably someone from the franchise.

I was summoned into a game to help kill a boss, by a player named and portrayed after Kratos.

  • Is there a tag for the God of War franchise? I never played any of them. I only merely recognised Kratos. Commented Mar 24 at 16:52

Not for the whole franchise, no. Commented Mar 24 at 17:59

Just call it "the god-of-war franchise/series". Commented Mar 24 at 18:15

  • I wonder if this is new. I don't remember seeing it in the original Warcraft III (except in the secret easter egg, but that's something else). Commented Mar 25 at 21:52
  • @Clockwork I mean this is a secret easter Egg, hidden in Nightelf mission 2, and it was always there also in the original game. Commented Mar 26 at 10:03

An admittedly strange cameo in of someone named ‘Porter’. He tells you he was a courier who has connected the world and brought people closer together...

I'm not sure who that guy is, but he seems pleasantly interested in what I'm doing in ...

I don’t think herobrine really counts as a cameo, he’s from Minecraft (regardless of whether or not he’s actually in-game). Commented Mar 24 at 16:38
  • But Herobrine is also not real. He's pretty much a meme/creepypasta that was created by the community. (tbh, I did have a slight internal jump the second I saw the white eyes, lol) Commented Mar 24 at 16:44

@voided Well, that's the joke. Even though the lore of Herobrine is that he is hiding in Minecraft, always watching you, Mojang has made it clear that Herobrine isn't an official part of Minecraft. Therefor, since he was "disinherited," he is from outside the Minecraft universe :P That particular herobrine was added using a mod, so indeed it is not a crossover of any kind, but I thought I might as well send this screenshot just for fun :) Commented Mar 24 at 19:47
