Thanks so much for the shoutout! Is Overwatch the only game that someone could play for "Free"? Heck, not even sticking to any one console could you do something for every game on this list, since Zelda is Nintendo-only. lol Commented Apr 1 at 22:36
  • @Malady It's a short list of games but given their popularity, surely most people have access to at least one. And if not, there's other ways to contribute and join in too. Remember the challenge is just for fun, and maybe check out games you haven't played, or revisit old favourites :) Commented Apr 1 at 23:02

@Malady Dragon Age Inquisition was given away for free on Epic (source) and The Witcher 3 has been discounted for 3 € on Steam, so almost free. Commented Apr 2 at 15:20
  • So Mario Kart World or Super Mario Bros Wonder (plus the Switch 2 expansion pack) isn't "Game of the Year"? Commented Apr 10 at 18:46

@Alex unfortunately no. SMB: Wonder was nominated, but didnt win. And I can't see MKW on the list. (The key here, is its the official TGA "Game of the Year" award. Plenty of games release "Game of the Year" bundles without actually winning the award) Commented Apr 11 at 2:30

Game 1 -

This month, I'm going to revisit Overwatch. I literally haven't played since launch, ten years ago. I loved the lore around the characters, but the gameplay never hooked me.

I might also look at some of our existing questions, and see if any are still relevant/can be ported to the tag.

Most of my edits are to questions, but I've made a point to add the tag for questions that still apply to modern Overwatch:

Overwatch -

I first heard of Overwatch in 2016 through my favorite podcast, one of the hosts had always been very into Blizzard, and he was there on day one. At the time I was 19 and was in my 2nd year of university. I didn't have a gaming PC and wasn't into multiplayer shooters anyway, so that passed completely over me. I've tried the game a few times in the past years in chances I had when it was free-for-a-weekend or now recently that it's been free-to-play. And a hero shooter isn't my cup of tea, but I could perfectly see its appeal. What attracts me the most about Overwatch is its character design. Exquisite.

The Witcher 3 -

I played The Witcher 3 in the beginning of 2018 (I was 20 years old) and it became an instant favorite. To this day it's still my 2nd favorite game ever.

I'm not gonna replay it now because I'm waiting for that rumored new expansion, 11 years after the game came out. But I can edit some questions and other shinenigans :)

Though not my first, BotW is in my top list of games as well. It was the first Zelda I had played since Twilight Princess. My wife got me a Switch+BotW bundle when it came out. She tried to surprise me with it for my birthday, but I found out hahaha Commented Apr 3 at 12:15

@Wondercricket That was very nice of your wife :) BotW was the first Zelda game I ever actually got into. The franchise had never interested me before that. Commented Apr 3 at 13:40

I noticed that What did Mercy do to Reaper? has no answer citing an official source, so I added one with quotes from the game's lead writer and links to the relevant sources.
