I’m trying to understand where the boundary is between a genuine contribution and what might be considered self-promotion.

For example, if someone has developed their own framework, method, or resource based on personal experience, and they share insights from it in an answer:

At what point does that become self-promotion? Is it acceptable to mention your own resource if it directly answers the question? Are there specific guidelines on frequency or wording?

I’ve read the general help pages, but I’m still unclear about how this is interpreted in practice by moderators and the community.

I’d appreciate clarification or examples of what is considered acceptable vs not.

    Presumably you're asking if something like "brought to you by ZenX Academy" is acceptable? Depends if the question is about day trading in Chennai and your answer actually directly answers the question. Does it answer the question?

If self-promotion answers the question, then it is a valid answer to the question. That it is also self-promotion is irrelevant; all that matters is that it’s actually an attempt to engage with and solve the problem described in the question. Shoehorning in a mention of your product in a place where it’s irrelevant is not allowed. But if your product actually would help, and is actually how you (ideally, an expert in the subject) would approach it, then it’s an answer and possibly even a good one.

An answerer’s self-interest or conflict of interest should be disclosed so that readers can decide for themselves how significantly they think that flavors the answerer’s judgment that the answer is a good one.

Finally, users are expected to interact with a variety of questions, and not focus solely on those where their product can be an answer. Just searching for questions where your product can be considered and answering only those makes you look like a salesperson rather than an expert.
