Brent Buntin shared thisCalling all nominations!Brent Buntin shared thisWhat does it take to be named the Financial Marketer of the Year? For 21 years, the FCS has asked that question of the financial industry — recognizing the marketing leaders whose work has delivered exceptional strategy, execution and, above all, measurable results. The list of past winners includes senior marketers from Nuveen, a TIAA company, Travelers, Northwestern Mutual, Invesco, Ally, State Street Investment Management, Prudential Financial, Citi, Edward Jones, TD Bank, MetLife, Fidelity Investments and other leading financial brands. Now it’s time to name the 2026 FCS Financial Marketer of the Year. We’re looking for the marketer — and the marketing leader — behind work that made a meaningful difference to the business. Big idea? Absolutely. Smart strategy? Essential. Great creative? Important. But this competition ultimately comes down to results. The strongest entries demonstrate how marketing addressed a genuine business challenge, executed against a clear strategy and produced measurable impact. And big results don’t require big budgets. The Call for Nominations is now open. There is no entry fee, and self-nominations are welcome. Deadline: Wednesday, October 21 at 5:00pm ET. Finalists will be celebrated at the FCS Financial Marketer of the Year Awards Gala on December 1 at the New York Yacht Club — where we will name the 2026 winner and two runners-up. This year, their achievement will also have an impact beyond our industry. The FCS will donate $5,000 to a children’s charity selected by the winner and $2,500 each to charities selected by the two runners-up. If you believe your work belongs among the best in financial marketing, make the case. Learn more, review the judging criteria and submit your nomination: https://lnkd.in/gfjR6Pk7

Brent Buntin shared thisBig news, big collab, lots of smart people to thank! 🎇 Stagwell Code and Theory Anomaly 3C Ventures IBMBrent Buntin shared thisIBM just appointed Stagwell's Code and Theory and Anomaly as their lead creative partner — working as a single, unified team to evolve the “Let’s Create Smarter Business” campaign across channels and geographies. What that actually means for us: one of the world’s most recognized enterprise brands chose an agency model where creative and technology aren’t two departments negotiating with each other. They’re the same thing. First work drops in August. Read the news in Ad Age: https://lnkd.in/d_5F72uG

Brent Buntin shared thisWhat a great start to the week. I've been to 10 Cannes, and this is the best night I've had. Jessica Sibley and I hosted a dinner with an amazing group of executives and athletes. Already looking forward to doing it again next year! I'd like to thank everyone for spending the evening with us, and I am excited to continue conversations with so many brilliant people. I hope everyone has a great Cannes. Our work with TIME was shortlisted for a Lion, so wish us luck! And hope to see everyone at SPORT BEACH over the course of the week. ❤️

Brent Buntin reposted thisBrent Buntin reposted thisWe are honored to say that Fast Company has named Code and Theory one of its most innovative companies for the second year in a row. This is the biggest shift in the attention economy since the rise of social media. Buyer behavior is rewiring in real-time. AI is exploding. Holdcos are imploding. Businesses know they need new tools and ideas, but don’t know where to start. This is our idea of a good time. We were built for this moment. We see it as the golden age of creativity. Since 2001, Code and Theory has run on a 50/50 engine — half creatives, half engineers. That balance is why CEOs, CMOs and CTOs trust us to solve their biggest business transformation problems. Thank you, Fast Company, for these back-to-back honors. Read more: https://lnkd.in/eg7WGWG9

Brent Buntin liked thisBrent Buntin liked thisTwo years ago, I first walked through the doors of Code and Theory, kicking off one of the most rewarding stretches of my career. On my 2nd anniversary here, I have good reason to pause, reflect, and celebrate. Covered California's new website just launched, and for me, that project captures a lot of what I hoped this practice could become. It showed that there's a real appetite in government for something different, including a willingness to take a chance on a firm without a long list of public sector quals. It reflected a convergence I see happening between technology and creative design, which is making a meaningful difference for Americans who rely on government services but do not always have a great experience using them. And it gave us the chance to show that a firm like ours can compete on a level playing field, and deliver, alongside companies that have been built around capture and the arcane demands of government contracting. None of it would have been possible without the team at Covered California, whose openness, collaboration, and commitment to the people they serve made this a genuine partnership. Never before have a seen a government tech project with so few hiccups and such amazing vibes. I know Austin LeRoy Swick would agree! If you have a minute, take a look at our team's craftwork at coveredca.com and let me know what you think. Most of all, though, it is the people I have gotten to work with along the way. This team is chock-a-block with talent, and brings a creative energy and a drive to keep getting better. I have had the chance to learn, to grow, and in turn I've gotten to share with the people around me how rewarding it can be to serve the mission. Building a government practice at a company like this is not easy. Explaining the differences, and some of the seemingly absurd realities, of doing business with the public sector has been challenging, especially inside a firm that moves as quickly as ours. Our growth team often identifies, pitches, and signs work in a matter of days, while in government the norm is months or years. I still have not fully cracked the code on explaining why the long game matters: nurturing partnerships, pursuing contract vehicles, and building an opportunity into the pipeline well before an RFP is released. Even when it has tested their patience, from day one our leadership, starting with our founder Dan Gardner, has given me the space and time to build a foundation for continued public sector growth at Code and Theory. I am grateful for that trust, and I am thrilled to see the seeds we planted months, and in some cases years ago begin to sprout. Thank you to all the great people I've met along the way... I spent today in NYC with Alexis Stanishewski, along with a great group of talented colleagues across various areas of expertise, talking about innovation, operational efficiencies, AI and how we can bring new ideas to the way advisors manage their businesses. The best solutions should start with the advisor: What are you trying to accomplish? What will make your practice more efficient, more visible and more successful? I’m excited to keep exploring what’s possible!

AI Unlocks a $100B Affiliate & Partnership Market. Introducing VantagePoint™ to Capture Value Beyond the Click. The Machine-Mediated Market is here. AI is fundamentally restructuring digital commerce—and with it, the economics of influence. Traditional content discovery is rapidly giving way to AI-mediated experiences. From search and social to the rise of conversational AI, these journeys are reshaping how consumers make decisions and how value flows through the ecosystem. The core challenge? Capturing the conversion value that happens beyond the click. This transformation is expanding the addressable market for Affiliate and Partnership Marketing dramatically. What is currently a $20B category now has the structural tailwinds to reach $100B over the next three years, driven by the essential shift from direct-response mechanics to comprehensive, influence-based attribution. At Partnerize, we’ve successfully navigated and built for technology transitions before: search, social, mobile. Each wave expanded the addressable market for partnership marketing. AI represents the largest opportunity yet. Today's launch of VantagePoint™ positions us firmly at the center of that shift. It is the first solution designed to measure influence across the full spectrum of AI-mediated journeys, allowing brands to capture value that extends well beyond the traditional click. As attribution continues to evolve, the opportunity is now to also fundamentally reconsider our measurement infrastructure. The companies that can prove value across both click-driven and clickless influence (the core of Answer Engine Optimization) will capture the expanding $100B TAM. That's the market we've built VantagePoint™ to own. A huge congratulations to Erez Nahom, Andy Crossen, and the entire team on the incredible work to make today possible. #VantagePoint #AI #PartnershipMarketing #AffiliateMarketing #Attribution #Partnerize #MachineMediatedMarket

Our latest blog provides a comprehensive breakdown of the evolving advertising landscape, emphasizing the advantages of Connected TV (CTV) over other TV strategies. By integrating CTV with intent data, brands and marketers regain control over their desired audiences, allowing for tailored messaging and targeted spending. This approach also enhances the cross-channel and cross-device opportunities for attribution. There is little doubt that CTV will become more and more prevalent in the marketing mix for the vast majority of brands in 2026. Kroger Just Unlocked the TV and Audio Ad Market for small and medium sized brands. Generally, CPG giants with dedicated in-house programmatic teams have been able to take advantage of first-party data supported Connected TV (CTV) and streaming audio. However, without significant resources, smaller and mid-sized brand were stuck on the outside looking in. Until Now. Kroger Precision Marketing (KPM) just unlocked the door for challenger brands of all sizes. They recognized the critical gap : Brands want to leverage streaming media but lack the expertise and / or resources for complex programmatic buying. Kroger’s solution? They’ll do the heavy lifting for you. KPM’s in-house experts will activate and manage your campaigns across premium platforms like Roku, Paramount+, Pandora, and iHeartRadio. The Secret Weapon: Selling Outcomes, Not Impressions. KPM isn't just selling ad slots; they're providing the data-powered precision that's impossible to replicate independently. -Precision Targeting: Using Kroger’s first-party loyalty card data for unrivaled accuracy. -Guaranteed Measurement: Every campaign provides closed-loop measurement, including ROAS, sales lift, and the direct impact on dollar and unit sales. -The Proof: A campaign using this data achieved a 5.5% increase in sales by targeting lapsed Neutrogena buyers on Roku. This is a strategic play that democratizes access to high-value media channels. If you've viewed CTV and streaming audio as out of reach, the door is now open. ➡️ See the full strategic analysis on how KPM is weaponizing its data for the masses and creating a lifeline for challenger brands (Link below and in the first comment!)

Excited to share that Aperiam has invested in Bedrock Platform. Obvious statement of the century: programmatic advertising has a complexity problem. The infrastructure that was built to give media buyers control has, over time, done the opposite. Burying teams under layers of operational overhead, legacy tooling, and opaque supply chains. Bedrock is built on a simple but powerful thesis: what if you stripped away the bloat and rebuilt the stack around what actually matters... precision, transparency, and speed to execution. Their platform combines AI-driven campaign automation with curated, premium inventory across video, CTV, DOOH, and audio, and aims to be flexible and get smarter over time. Plus, the team (Shane, Austin, Ryan, James) has deep roots in the infrastructure layer of ad tech and understands the plumbing better than almost anyone. We believe the next generation of programmatic will be leaner, faster and AI-first. Bedrock is building that.
