Justina Chiang shared thisSeven years ago, I joined Nara Organics as the COO and became the very first employee. I came on board because I love building hard things from the ground up, and because I believed parents deserved more choice, more transparency, and more intention in the infant formula market. Since then, I’ve had two beautiful babies of my own. And throughout those early days with each of them, I remember wishing this formula already existed. After years of R&D, a multi-year clinical trial, and a global search for the right ingredients and manufacturing partner, I’m so proud to share: Nara Infant Formula is officially here. This is the formula I dreamed of feeding my own children, now available to parents across the U.S. https://nara.com/

Justina Chiang liked thisJustina Chiang liked thisThrilled to share that I'm joining EEZ Co. as Chief Marketing Officer! There's something uniquely rewarding about building brands in the baby & kids industry: earning the trust of parents by creating products that genuinely delight their little ones. It means understanding what parents need and what kids will actually embrace, then bringing the two together through great products, creative storytelling, and smart commercial strategy. And now, as Mom to twin toddlers, I have an even greater appreciation for anything that can turn a hard parenting moment into an EEZier one. That's a big part of what drew me to Eez. We take decidedly un-fun childhood moments-- the sore throats, upset tummies, dehydration-- and make them approachable with tasty, effective solutions kids actually want to take. I feel honored to help write the next chapter of Eez: reaching more families and building a brand kids want to engage with. A huge thank you to Josh Francis for trusting me with this special brand and what comes next! Here we go! 🍭 P.S. I’m hiring! I’m looking for an incredible Brand Director to join me on this next chapter. If building playful, parent-trusted brands sounds like your kind of fun, reach out!

Justina Chiang liked thisAI made it cheap to invent a drug. Proving one still takes a decade. In bio, we are funding one side of the pipeline & hoping the other will keep up. Roughly $3.2B went into AI drug development startups in the last 12 months, most of it aimed at discovery. Candidates have never been cheaper or faster to generate, and I've backed companies on this side. But look downstream. The FDA takes in over a thousand new INDs a year. It approved 46 novel drugs in 2025, down from 50 in 2024 and 55 in 2023. The path is still 10-15 years and roughly $2.6B per approved drug. More molecules. Same throughput. The gap between what science can make and what reaches a patient keeps widening. Discovery got AI. Development got a slightly better spreadsheet, still on a 96-well plate, a layout someone invented in 1951, which predates the double helix discovery. Discovery is not the bottleneck. Development is. Investors didn't miss it. Fixing development just isn't a model problem. It's robotics, software, lab ops and regulatory rigor at once, and almost nobody has the range to do all four. Which brings me to what I care about most: the people. Winners in this space need mixed DNA. Not AI people who read a biology paper. Not biologists who bolted a model onto an old process. People who have shipped in both worlds and can hold them in their head at once. Dash Bio is a beautiful example. Dave Johnson spent nine years at Moderna, ending as Chief Data and AI Officer, building the informatics backbone that scaled the company to 5,000 people and 3 billion doses a year. Ander Tallett was on that team, world class at breaking efficiency bottlenecks. Ely Porter, their CSO, co-founded Rootpath. Deep AI, deep bio, deep operations, melded rather than stapled together. They started with bioanalysis, the lab testing every program depends on from preclinical through Phase IV. Custom robotics, a purpose-built LIMS, a 24,000 square foot GLP lab in Boston, plus a 3D printer running spare parts on site. Legacy players return results in months with opaque pricing. Dash returns them in days with upfront pricing and pipette-level sample tracking. Nine months into go-to-market: 30+ customers, four top-25 global pharma companies, and more than $50M in identified annual customer value. Today they're announcing a $30M Series A led by Oak HC/FT, bringing total financing to $47.5M. Welcome to the cap table, Oak. Glad to ben on this journey alongside Swift Ventures The Aligned Fund Cybernetix Ventures Enrique Sarap Matt Wichrowski Pietro Invernizzi and glad to have led the first round at Freestyle Capital! No other team cares as deeply about this problem, or is as qualified to solve it. Glad for us all they are on this path!Justina Chiang liked thisDash has raised a $30 million Series A. Our goal is to accelerate drug development and build the next generation of infrastructure, starting with bioanalysis. The round was led by Oak HC/FT, with participation from Freestyle Capital and Swift Ventures. Total capital raised is now $47.5M. Since launch, more than 30 drug developers have contracted with Dash, from early stage biotechs to four top15 global pharmas. This round funds new assay modalities along with a broader set of services across the value chain. Today, our highly automated 24,000 square foot GLP lab in Waltham, MA is running low variance, rapid turnaround assays including ELISA, MSD, qPCR, ddPCR, and LC-MS. Preclinical results come back in days. Per sample pricing is published at dash.bio/pricing, with no hidden costs and no material pass throughs. If you are tired of traditional, manual, error prone bioanalysis CROs, it's time to run with Dash. Justina Chiang liked thisJustina Chiang liked thisI really enjoyed joining the first ever Metabolic Health Business Building Summit in London last week, convened by McKinsey Health Institute and Stanford University School of Medicine. We are at a tipping point. Leaders across pharma, food, health tech and insurance all share the same urgency: metabolic health is a generational challenge, but the solutions are finally within reach. My top takeaways: 🌍 The GLP-1 Catalyst: GLP-1s have sparked a massive, positive shift in how we talk about metabolic health. They are incredible tools that are accelerating the push toward comprehensive, personalized care tailored to every patient's unique journey. 📈 Scale is the Differentiator: Ideas are important, but scaling them is the real challenge. Delivering proven outcomes to hundreds of thousands of people is what truly moves the needle—and that scale is what makes Virta Health unique. 🚀 The Time is Now: We have unprecedented momentum and cross-industry collaboration. Now is the time to execute and add years of health to millions of lives. Thank you to the organizers (McKinsey & Company and Stanford University) for bringing us together. Let's get to work! #MetabolicHealth #HealthcareInnovation #VirtaHealth #McKinsey

Justina Chiang liked thisOne thing I've noticed about working mothers is that they develop an incredible radar for inefficiency. Not because they become less ambitious. Because time suddenly has a different value. When you're balancing meetings, childcare, pumping schedules, school pickup, dinner, and bedtime, you simply don't have time for unnecessary friction. You start noticing the absurdities we've accepted as normal in the workplace—meetings that could have been emails, processes that take twice as long as they should, technology that somehow creates more work instead of less. For me, pumping became the clearest example. Somehow, we decided it was perfectly reasonable for women to carry bags of equipment to work every day. To forget parts and scramble to replace them. To clean pump equipment in office kitchens and bathrooms. To build their schedules around heart-racing logistics instead of the work they were hired to do. None of those things are inevitable. We've simply accepted them. That's what led me to this realization: We've normalized so much inefficiency for mothers that we stopped seeing it as a problem. The best workplace innovations don't ask people to become more resilient. They challenge the assumptions we've stopped questioning and remove unnecessary friction so people can spend more time doing the work and making fewer compromises. I unpack this idea -- and why I believe it's one of the biggest blind spots in the #futureofwork -- on the latest episode of The Mothers podcast. Thank you to Sara Sedgwick Brown for inviting me to share my story. 🎧 I'd love for you to listen (link in comments) and tell me: What's one workplace norm we've accepted that deserves a second look? #PumpingAtWork #WorkingMoms #FemaleFounders MilkMate

Justina Chiang liked thisJustina Chiang liked thisWhat a way to spend my second week at Nara Organics. 🍼✨ We came together in NYC for our annual on-site, and it was a trip that left me energized about the work ahead and even more thrilled to be part of this team. A few highlights: 🤝 Volunteering with the Good+ Foundation. Such a meaningful way to connect with the families at the heart of what we do. 🎯 Visiting our end cap at Target. Seeing it on the shelf made everything feel very real. (Seriously, go find it at your own Target this week!) 📊 Functional updates from across the team. 🍕 Amazing food. NYC never disappoints. 👶 And perhaps the most unexpected perk of the job so far: baby formula taste testing. Truly did not have that on my 2026 bingo card. Feeling very lucky to be here. #NaraOrganics #NewRole #StartupLife #InfantNutrition #TeamCulture

Justina Chiang liked thisJustina Chiang liked thisIt took 7 years to bring the first clinically studied USDA organic whole milk formula to market, and about 7 minutes to build our first Target endcap. The entire Nara Organics team took a field trip to experience our first in-store merchandising moment and build the endcap ourselves. Then I did it all over again the next day at my local store with my family. A total full-circle moment. I created Nara Organics because I couldn’t find a formula I truly wanted to feed my daughter. Standing in Target with 9 year old Nara (my first and best creation), next to the company named after her, was a heady one. Our presence at Target is a sign of real progress. Both for a small, persistent team determined to create a genuinely new and unique formula, and for an entire industry working to close gaps parents have been navigating for too long. To the team who spent seven years getting us to this shelf: thank you. To the families picking us up in stores: we built this for you. We’ll keep pushing to make the best possible nutrition accessible to parents across the country.

Justina Chiang liked thisJustina Chiang liked thisAs I head home from an energizing first week onsite in NYC, I'm buzzing with ideas. Impressed, inspired, and ready. I'm thrilled to share I've joined Nara Organics as VP of Marketing! Nara has delivered a truly best-in-class formula to the market, bringing much needed transparency and integrity to the category. What drew me in was Esther's founder story and her unwavering commitment to making the very best accessible to families, alongside a team whose caliber and ambition are matched by their heart. You can feel the conviction, care, and clarity of purpose in every conversation and decision made. This work is also deeply personal for me. Through my daughter's feeding tube journey, I’ve sat in the uncertainty and overwhelm that come with trying to make the right choice for your baby. I feel honored to join a team dedicated to helping families feel more confident through their own feeding journeys. Here we go!

Over the past several months at Optilogic, I’ve had the opportunity to meet with many supply chain leaders to talk about a core question: What do you need to make your supply chain better? A theme has been emerging. More and more, I’m hearing customers ask for help building applications that fill critical gaps in their current planning systems. There’s rarely a “perfect” system that does everything they need. Some teams are relying on homegrown tools that were built years ago — systems that are now difficult to update, maintain, or extend. Others are still managing key decisions in spreadsheets. These approaches worked for a time… but they aren’t built to scale. What customers want now is clear: - A more systematic, structured approach - Solutions that scale across more users and business units - Applications tailored to their unique processes - And at the same time, systems that are reliable and sustainable That balance, customization and reliability, is where the real opportunity lies. It’s exciting to work with organizations that are ready to move beyond patchwork tools and toward solutions designed to evolve with their business. Supply chains aren’t static, and the systems that support them shouldn’t be either. If you’re seeing similar challenges in your organization, I’d love to compare notes. #SupplyChain #DigitalTransformation #SupplyChainPlanning #Technology #Optilogic
