Exelon serves approximately 10 million power and gas customers at its six regulated utilities in Illinois, Pennsylvania, Maryland, New Jersey, Delaware, and Washington, D.C.
RatingPrice TargetMaintaining EPS estimates
Exelon Corp. is a gas and electric utility headquartered in Chicago. It is a leading pure-play energy provider with transmission and distribution operations in the U.S., and it maintains over 11,000 miles of transmission lines. Exelon spun off its generation business in 2022, which was about 60% nuclear, as Constellation Energy. Constellation is now a publicly traded company (CEG) focused on generation and competitive distribution, while Exelon focuses on regulated transmission and distribution. Exelon shares were repriced as a result of this separation. As of the beginning of 2026, Exelon has about 9.1 million electric customers and 1.4 million gas customers through its six regulated utility subsidiaries. Its key service regions are primarily in central Maryland (Baltimore Gas & Electric Co.), northern Illinois (ComEd), and southeastern Pennsylvania (PECO). Revenues in 2025 were $24.3 billion, of which about half were contributed by ComEd and PECO. As of the end of 1H26, about 11% of revenues were from natural gas with the remainder from electric operations. The company aims to cut emissions by 50% by 2030 and to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The shares are a component of the S&P 500. Exelon's market cap is about $43 billion.
RatingPrice TargetBased on the latest weekly data from Vickers Stock Research, corporate
Based on the latest weekly data from Vickers Stock Research, corporate executives, directors, and beneficial owners continue to be indifferent to stocks, neither running for the hills nor showing any interest in acquiring shares. How does that stack up when looking at the recent performance of the major stock indices? As of last week, the S&P 500 was off about 0.54% for the past 30 days, the Nasdaq Composite was up about 0.89%, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down about 3.1%, and the Russell 2000 was off about 5.2%. That makes it hard to suggest that current insider sentiment is out of touch. On a scale where the neutral sentiment range runs from 2.00 to 6.00, Vickers' major eight-week sell/buy ratios are 5.02 for the NYSE, 3.74 for the Nasdaq, and 4.15 for the Total (all exchanges) category. That theme generally carries over into the eight-week sector sentiment data from Vickers, with no sector currently bearish, five sectors bullish, and six sectors neutral. The Consumer Staples, Financial, Healthcare, Real Estate, and Utility sectors all boast bullish eight-week ratios. Meanwhile, Communication Services, Consumer Discretionary, Energy, Industrial, Information Technology, and Materials log neutral eight-week ratios. This marked a slight improvement from last week, as the Healthcare sector previously was neutral. Zooming in to one-week readings, we note that eight of the 11 sectors are bullish, two are neutral, and one is bearish. The bearish reading is for Communication Services. This is the second consecutive week that the sector has been bearish, albeit it on relatively light transaction volume. This week, analysts at Vickers highlighted insider transactions of interest at Adobe Inc. (NGS: ADBE) and Medpace Holdings Inc. (NGS: MEDP).
