Not surprisingly, stocks paused on Tuesday ahead of today's PCE report as well as the pending earnings report from Micron. Some good news came in the form of a 4% decline in WTI, down to $88.90/barrel and right back to near-term chart support from the recent breakout as well as to the 50-day average. More importantly, crude is back to trendline support off the lows since early July and a break could lead to a pretty good flush. Yet Treasury rates from 5-years to 10-years held steady near recovery highs and are not in any way reacting to the lower energy prices.

  • SK Hynix Earnings: Slight Miss on Earnings Signals Lower Peak Prices, but Selloff Looks Overdone

The company is both the second-largest DRAM and NAND supplier globally, with a 33% and 21% market share, respectively, as of 2024. SK Hynix increased its market position in NAND from fourth to second, after acquiring Intel’s NAND business in 2021. SK Square, an investment management company spun off from SK Telecom, is SK Hynix’s largest shareholder and currently holds 20% of the company’s shares.
