Etymology[]
Domovoi is a house spirit in Slavic folklore. They are seen as guardians of the home, living under doors or the stove, and sometimes help with household chores in exchange for food. For the most part they are peaceful and helpful, but if displeased by the family, possibly by their neglect of their home, it will torment them in a manner similar to a poltergeist.
