Life truly is a relationship game. Through a combination of luck and intentional work, I feel so thankful for the people that have entered my circle.
I have endless stories, but here is a specific one of how a long web of relationships led to
Ramp being an official Presenting Sponsor for my 10/16 NYC Back to Basics Event:
It’s crazy to zoom out and see it all come together, which I don't think we stop and do enough.
When I really think about, it actually somewhat begins with this picture, in April 2024.
I was working with
Chip Ransler at the
UVA McIntire School of Commerce to help start UVA’s Founder’s Forum, which has continued to bring in crazy founders/CEOs like from
Whole Foods Market,
[solidcore],
Peloton Interactive,
Chipotle Mexican Grill, etc.
I then met
Zach Teiger because
Jacob Swisher (who is in this picture and I met through doing this Founder’s Forum & is now a close friend) saw on LinkedIn that Zach was hosting a Consumer Health event at
Stanford University.
Zach said in the post that he needed help from someone that has hosted an event on a college campus before, so Jacob sent me it.
I reached out to Zach, connected him to
Bryan Myers, CEO of
[solidcore], (who I met through
Allison Teweles, and then I had Bryan on my podcast) to be Zach's first speaker. I knew firsthand the power of locking in one anchor (
Brett Schulman, CEO/Co-Founder of
CAVA, when I started at UVA), but I was not expecting anything in return.
Fast forward, 1. Zach continues to crush it and is now working with
Fitt Insider after pulling off an incredible event and 2. Zach introduced me to
Brian Von Ancken, founder of
Wellness Growth Mastermind. If you’re in the health & wellness industry, highly recommend joining.
Brian has become an instrumental connection for me and is the definition of a good human. At his NYC WGM event this summer, I met
Nate Kline in the Sauna.
If you don’t know Nate, do yourself a favor and get to know him. He is incredibly smart, has endless great ideas, and is so willing to help.
Nate knew I was looking for sponsors for my event (because I told him) so he introduced me to
Abigail DiTosto, who leads partnerships at
Ramp.
From the moment I got on the phone with Abigail, I could tell she was someone I would be friends with. Because of that, it never felt like I was trying to “sell” her.
Instead, it has been collaborative and about how we can make this the best possible situation for us both. I get so excited to talk to her, to work with her, and to see this Ramp x Back to Basics partnership come to life.
Oh and
Chaitenya Razdan, a great UVA connection of mine, has hosted with her, so that proved she must be awesome.
The lesson here: be a good person, do cool things, and put yourself out there because you truly never know the train of AMAZING people that it can lead you to.
Everyone that will be at the Back to Basics event is incredible. Learn more here:
