Alpha v1.0.6_01[1][2] is a version of Java Edition Alpha, released on July 17, 2010,[3] that added special splashes and new splashes, made changes to boats, among other changes.

- Added first special splashes:
- "Happy birthday! I love you! Alex x" - visible for player "athna" on July 26, 2010
- "Happy birthday, ez!" - visible on November 9
- "Happy birthday, Notch!" - visible on June 1
- "Merry X-mas!" - visible on December 24
- "Happy new year!" - visible on January 1
- Added new splashes:

Changes

- Decay again, using an algorithm that checks whether it has a solid or leaf block underneath, it or is adjacent to a solid block. If it doesn't, it must be connected to a leaf block that is also supported as long as it's no further than 5 blocks away from the support.
Mobs
[edit | edit source]- Has been tweaked.
- The chances of mobs spawning are now lower, making certain items difficult to find.
Non-mob entities

- Can now be placed out of water.
- Only break on impact at high speeds.
- Create water splash particles when going fast enough to break upon impact.
- Turn more smoothly.
Fixes

- Fixed stuttering after death bug.
