Michael Robinov shared thisGrateful to abc7NY for the chance to share about Farm To People this week. My favorite part was feeding the anchors Concord grapes and watching them figure out what to do with the seeds. 🍇 Let's keep building a better food system!Michael Robinov shared thisThe shortest supply chain is a name you know. Our co-founder and CEO Michael Robinov sat down with abc7NY this morning to talk about the farmers behind every box and why local, in-season food belongs in more New York kitchens. Thanks for having us!

Michael Robinov shared thisGreat opportunities to join our warehouse teams. This is the heart of our business and we’re looking for great operational minds to help us get our farmers food into and out of our warehouse in the most efficient way! You’ll be working closely with Felix Dechant and Jordan Benkov. Only reach out if you are a player-coach and love moving from idea to implementation at a rapid pace.Michael Robinov shared this3 years ago our Brooklyn warehouse was packing a few hundred orders a day. This week we packed nearly 10,000 orders. We couldn't have pulled this off without our amazing operations team, working 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, in 36°F rooms. It's a labor of love and a love of labor. We're bringing more great people onto that team. I'm personally hiring three operations roles to work alongside Jordan Benkov, our VP of Operations: → Director of Warehouse Operations: oversees multiple managers across 3 shifts a day, 7 days a week. → Warehouse Manager: owns one shift, end to end. → Reusable Packaging Operations Manager: runs our returnable bag and ice pack program, which keeps thousands of units a week out of landfill. All on-site in Brooklyn. Full job descriptions attached, and more open roles are on our careers page. Resume and cover letter to jobs@farmtopeople.com, cc felix@farmtopeople.com Know someone great? Tag them or send this their way. 🙏

Michael Robinov shared thisAfter 13+ years of bootstrapping, I'm excited to announce Farm To People's first outside investment, $5 million led by Elly Truesdell and Hallie Bonnar of New Fare Partners alongside a list of founders and operators I've admired for a long time, listed below. Read more in yesterday's The New York Times, linked in the comments. Farm to People was never meant to be a different grocery delivery company. It's infrastructure for a food system where a small farm can actually make a living. The Times put it as our ambition, and they're right: a new economy for small farms to succeed. That's what happens when the quality of the farmers market meets the ease of modern e-commerce. From my parents' studio apartment on the Upper West Side to a new 40,000 square foot warehouse coming soon in The Bronx, it's been a helluva ride. Thank you David Robinov for being a pioneer in the natural foods movement since before I was born and for making this all possible. And Anina von Haeften for your partnership and vision every day! To every customer, farmer, maker, driver, packer, buyer, and team member who got us here: thank you. And we're just getting started. If you want to build this with us, we're hiring. It's hard work. If you're ready to make an impact, reach out. Here's the incredible list of investors who share our vision of the future and inspire us: Gary Hirshberg (and Ethan, Alex, Danielle) founder of Stonyfield; Walter Robb former co-CEO of Whole Foods; David Barber of Blue Hill At Stone Barns; Fred Wilson (and Joanne & Josh) founder of Union Square Ventures; Martin Dolfi, Bill Schultz and Whitney Williams from Beliade Consumer Partners; Jean-Francois Jeff Déchant (and Felix Dechant, our COO, who makes FtP run every day); Jeff Sterrett & Jamie Sterrett; Stephen Williamson, John Charles Hanley & Daisy Bowes Williamson; Todd Lachman; Tom Gellert & Andrew Gellert; Sam Slover; Jeff Samberg; Gabi Lewis; and more. Thank you Jacqueline S. for sharing our story with the world.

Michael Robinov reposted thisMichael Robinov reposted thisA field trip to Sun Sprout Farm 🌱 Our team took a trip upstate to spend the day with Simon at Sun Sprout Farm, a longtime farm partner in the black dirt region of the Hudson Valley. We walked the fields, harvested garlic, learned about what goes into running a small organic farm, and shared a family meal outside. There's really no substitute for seeing the work up close together. It always gives us an even deeper appreciation for the care, knowledge, and resilience that goes into growing our food. Thank you Simon and family for having us. Here's to many more seasons of great food grown by great people.

Michael Robinov reposted thisMichael Robinov reposted thisA themed market is always a good time. 🍓 This month, we brought gorgeous, juicy local strawberries to the lobby of one of our building partners, celebrating the start of summer and delighting employees with a little seasonal treat. We love creating seasonal events that do more than just feed people. They're a chance to educate on what's in season, and why now is the best time to enjoy it. Curious what a seasonal market could look like in your office? Let's talk. 🍅 Farm To People #WorkplaceWellness #SeasonalEating #EatLocal #EmployeeWellbeing #CompanyCulture

Michael Robinov shared thisJoin our incredible procurement team and work alongside Roger Brady, Sophia Hetelekides and the rest of the crew. We’re a fast-growing business investing in our farm direct supply chain. If this sounds like a fun challenge, reach out!Michael Robinov shared thisSophia Hetelekides and I are hiring! The past year at Farm To People has been a period of tremendous growth and we're just getting started. I've spent the past decade working in food supply chains focused on building a better food system. One thing I've learned is that the current system didn't happen by accident. It's incredibly efficient at moving products at scale, but that efficiency comes at the expense of regional growers, producers, and makers. Building an alternative takes expertise, persistence, and grit. We're committed to doing it the right way, not the easy way. We're looking for two buyers to help us further our mission to build a stronger regional food system by creating meaningful market access for farmers, producers, and makers, while helping customers better understand where their food comes from and how it is produced. If this sounds like work you'd be excited to do, we'd love to hear from you. And if someone came to mind while reading this, please send them our way. https://lnkd.in/emJa6T8z

Michael Robinov reposted thisMichael Robinov reposted thisWhat happens to the rest of the animal when you only buy the tenderloin? In the U.S., roughly 26% of edible meat goes uneaten each year. The reason is simple: consumers want the prime cuts, and the rest gets left behind. This is why we practice whole animal buying. For the meat we source, every animal we bring on gets fully used. Bones, organs, secondary cuts, all of it. Because honoring the animal means honoring the whole thing, and the farmers who raised them. Demand doesn't always match supply. But the way we buy can help close that gap. This is what it means to source with intention.

Michael Robinov liked thisMichael Robinov liked thisThis guy has built an incredible business → 3,500+ customers, a 3x+ increase in volume year-over-year, and they just raised $100M. That would be Numeral, founded by Sam Ross. Think of Numeral as the best-in-class solution for sales tax. It’s covered end-to-end, and they guarantee their work. That’s why businesses like Eight Sleep, Graza, Brex, and Supabase trust them for all things sales tax. 👉 https://www.numeral.com/ Proud to be a partner since the early days.

Michael Robinov reacted on thisMichael Robinov reacted on thisA memorable dinner last week reminded me that food is more than nourishment. It's a relationship. As retail evolves from stores to ecommerce and perhaps someday to AI-powered agentic commerce, the big question isn't whether buying food will become easier. It's whether we'll preserve the connection to the farmers, producers, and stories behind it. My latest thoughts on why human connection must remain at the center of the plate. #FoodRetail #Ecommerce #AI #Agriculture #FutureOfRetail #FoodSystems

Michael Robinov liked thisExtremely excited to unveil our first major packaging refresh since launch! More clarity, more characters, more consistency, and a lot more blurple. Huge thanks to Fred Hart and team for the amazing work 💜Michael Robinov liked thisSeven years ago, Magic Spoon was four flavors of cereal and a crazy idea: that maybe grownups deserved fun breakfast, too. Today, we’re cereal. Treats. Granola. Oatmeal. A whole pantry of childhood favorites, rebuilt for healthy grownups. It was time we looked like it. This week, we’re unveiling the first major evolution of the Magic Spoon brand since we launched. Meet the new look of Magic Spoon. We’ve refreshed everything, from our packaging and colors to the way our growing family of products shows up together, creating one cohesive, colorful Magic Spoon world across everything we make. And because a glow-up shouldn’t just be skin deep, we made our cereal even better, too. Now with fiber, plus the high protein, low carb, and 0g sugar you already know us for. It’s the biggest change we’ve ever made to Magic Spoon. And somehow, it feels more like us than ever. 🪄🥣

In U.S. beverage alcohol, it is fair to say there remains a lingering hangover. In the latest Census news, total beverage alcohol (TBA) inventories remain well above average: ~45% above 2019 average ~29% above 10-year average ~99% above 30-year average. Inventory / sales ratio ticked lower sequentially to 1.65 in September vs. 1.67 in August but was still well ahead of 2019 average of 1.35, indicating that U.S. TBA wholesalers still have too much inventory on hand. And consumer spirits surveys showed that pantries returned to prior lows, suggesting consumers may be turning to smaller pack sizes or looking to stretch purchases by waiting to refill pantries. Of course, this will vary by category/price, and we continue to see growth in RTD and Tequila, but the overall picture remains "paying the piper."

When Kirkland Signature shows up in a category, it’s usually not by accident. Seeing Kirkland launch grass-fed beef sticks feels like a clear signal that beef sticks have officially moved beyond “nice impulse snack” into everyday protein staple territory. Private label doesn’t jump in unless the demand, repeat, and economics are already there — especially at the Costco scale. From a category perspective, this changes the dynamics fast: -Premium cues like grass-fed, high protein, low sugar are now table stakes, not differentiators -The value bar just moved, putting pressure on national brands to justify price and claims -Beef sticks start behaving less like jerky and more like bars, yogurt, or shakes in how shoppers use them The bigger takeaway for me: this is beef sticks growing up as a category. When Costco makes room for it under Kirkland, it’s no longer niche — it’s mainstream. Curious how others are thinking about this shift. Is growth coming more from premiumization, or from private label making the category more accessible? #CategoryManagement #PrivateLabel #Costco #Kirkland #ProteinSnacks #CPG #RetailTrends

Protein is driving the next wave of food innovation. What started in supplements is now mainstream — beverages, snacks, and everyday foods are being re-engineered around protein. Global demand for protein products is expected to grow ~37% over the next five years. This isn’t just diet culture. It’s health, satiety, and willingness to pay for function. For snack makers, the signal is clear: protein formats are becoming a premium growth lane, not a niche. #Protein #FoodInnovation #BetterForYou #SnackFood #CPG #ConsumerTrends

Opening Prices for U.S. Pistachios – New Season 2025/26 Wonderful Pistachios has officially announced the first prices of the new U.S. crop: 🔹 In-shell Pistachios, 21–25, Extra No. 1 → $9.02/kg ($4.10/lb) 🔹 Golden Hills variety, raw pistachios → $8.47/kg ($3.85/lb) 🔹 Kerman variety, raw pistachios → $8.25/kg ($3.75/lb) 📌 These opening figures serve as a global benchmark, influencing trade across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. ⸻ 🌍 Impact on Iran’s Pistachio Market The U.S. announcement immediately puts pressure on Iranian exporters: • For standard round varieties, prices above $7.5$ per kg are now unrealistic unless supported by superior kernel quality. (Sizes in Iran is small this year , Fandoghi in average will be 34/36 ) • Green kernels remain the only product with steady, genuine demand, where Iran continues to hold a strong advantage. • Exporters will adjust offers to remain competitive, especially in China, India, Turkey, and the EU. ⸻ 🇨🇳 Why China’s Decision Matters China is the swing buyer in the global pistachio trade: • It is the fastest-growing market, with strong gifting culture and rising middle-class consumption. • Buyers closely compare Iranian vs. U.S. pistachios on price, quality, and logistics. • Political and regulatory factors matter: U.S. pistachios face tariffs, while Iran faces banking and sanction-related barriers. • Because of their large-volume, short-window purchases, Chinese buyers can tip the balance of global prices. 👉 If China steps in strongly, both U.S. and Iranian markets could stabilize. 👉 If China delays or reduces buying, global inventories will weigh on prices for months. ⸻ 🔑 The key question now: Will China step in to stabilize the pistachio market, or will oversupply keep pressure on prices into 2026? Chinese traders are in big hesitation now… #Pistachios #IranianPistachios #trade #Agriculture #Foodindustry #Nuts #Export #Pistachioindustry #Marketinsight #SustainableAgriculture #Foodexport #cropreport #marketupdate #Agritrade #Nutsindustry #Businessgrowth #Globaltrade #Gulfood #Pistachioinshell #pistachiokernel #worldfood #inc #usapistachio #californiapistachio #wonderfulpistachio
